ReplyDeleteSandee: I knew there were cases of body brokers selling body part, but I had no idea it was so pervasive. I shouldn't be surprised. If there's a way to profit from a donated item, someone will find a way to exploit it.
ReplyDeleteJan: I know. I'm usually on the side of deregulation, but in this case I think there should be some measure of accountability when it comes to a person's cadaver. How do you know that the crematorium has really returned the ashes of your loved one and not sold it for body part?

If i could be sure it would go to the medical school, i'd have myself donated. Since there's no way to be sure, and until there is, i'm backing out on that one.
ReplyDeleteAlways been Cremation for me. I just think it is absurd to pay an absurd amount of money to be put in a box and buried. Beside - ashes to ashes, dust to dust. I'm going to get there quick.

ReplyDeleteKid: I used to assume I'd be buried, but lately I've been leaning towards cremation. The cost of a funeral nowadays is akin to highway robbery.
