Copy Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... Copy Cat, or CC for short... a cat clone.

Genetic Savings and Clone, the company in the business of creating clones of beloved pets is closing its doors .

It seems like there isn't much demand for cloned cats at $50,000 a pop.

Go figure.

Happy Friday, everybody!

  1. The price is too steep for me. Besides, cloning one's beloved pet sounds great, but so many cats need homes.

Each cat is an individual, each with individual ways. I like that! Our four girls are each different.

PS to Cube: Sheba is improving by the hour! Whew!

  2. The cloned pet will only look like your pet. There is no guarantee about its behavior.

    Great news about Sheba :-)

  3. What a cute litle fella!

However I'm with AOW on this one.So many cats need good homes( here in Oz too)

One can do a lot with $50,000 to alleviate the plight of homeless cats.

  4. Fifty grand would adopt a lot of cats! Our Jack is adopted, and is the best cat ever!

And no, I'm not biased. ;)

  5. I remember seeing an article about cloned cats, where they didn't even look alike. I guess the fur patterns are somewhat determined by genetics, and somewhat by events in the womb. So there's no guarantee it would even look like your old kitty!

If I clone my last kitty, would it also scratch my feet at 5am because it wanted to play, and poop outside the litterbox, and have stinky, stinky cat farts? I hope so! Seriously, I'm pretty sure I could find all that and more in a shelter kitty...

  6. Absolutely. You didn't have to be a Mensa member to figure out this was an idiotic business venture.

I urge everyone to adopt a kitten or a puppy (or a senior pet, if you're so inclined). They will add unbounded joy & love to your life.

  9. I heard they've made a cat that is genetically altered to not cause allergic reactions for those who have cat allergies. It has a high price tag like the cloned kitties.

  11. Have not read the cloned article yet but I can tell you that this little guy is so cute, a little tank. I know there are many more out there, born by over population. If only I had that money, I would only adopt more from the shelter!

Awwww, to this little guy again.
