Real scariness this Halloween
al Qaeda doesn't warn...it attacks. It threatens only when it can't attack.
The latest UBL tape is a warning for America to stop the global war on terror or else face the wrath of Islamo-facists everywhere.
Well, lets see...Kerry has been against involvement in every conflict that our country has faced in the last 20 years. Kerry has voted against every weapon system that came his way. The Kerry record is one of a liberal pacifist internationalist.
Doesn't that sound like a Kerry endorsement from UBL?
A Kerry presidency is the scariest thing I can think of for America now.
Don't let UBL influence YOUR vote.
Vote to keep America strong.
Vote BUSH.

Frank Burns Redux
In case you missed the NBC Nightly News, 10/28/04
Brokaw: Someone has analyzed the President’s military aptitude tests and yours,
and concluded that he has a higher IQ than you do.
Kerry: That’s great. More power. I don’t know how they’ve done it, because my record
is not public. So I don’t know where you’re getting that from.
Stop the presses! Kerry finally tells the truth & admits he has not released his military records, after claiming all along he had released them & they were on his website. Finally, a bit of truth.
Now ask yourself, why hasn't Kerry released his military records?
Remember Frank Burns from M*A*S*H?
Can you say 'redux'?

Cats suffer stress, experts say
According to a recent study at Edinburgh University's school of veterinary studies,
cats can suffer from stress-related illness like humans.
"My cat, Schlomo, is very jumpy. Oy, such stress. Now, he has a heart moimah! I don't need a fancy-schmancy university study to tell me about cat stress!" says owner, Sol Bernstein. He adds, "On my salary as a mohel (one who performs a circumcision rite called a bris) a heart transplant for Schlomo is out of the question."

Lessons from the mistakes of Madrid
Five days away from the election, and with the leaking of a new terror tape vowing "streets full of blood in America", we need to remember the mistakes made by Spain after the Madrid bombings.
The populace, hoping to be spared more bloodshed, voted to appease the terrorists by voting for the socialist candidate who promised to pull out their troops in Iraq.
This wrong-headed nonsense brought them the contempt and ridicule of the free world, but didn't spare them the ire of the terrorists. A recent group of arrests revealed a plot to bomb the Spanish National Court that was investigating Islamic terrorist crimes.
Negotiation with and appeasement of terrorists will not work.
Negotiation with and appeasement of terrorists will only make you more vulnerable.
Now is not the time to elect a man who has been on the wrong side of every conflict this country has seen from Vietnam, the Gulf War,the Balkans, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and on the wrong side of every weapon system that would keep us safe.
Now is not the time to elect a man who will subvert the interests of America to those of greedy diplomats in the United Nations.
The war on terror is upon us. We must remain strong. We must remain resolute. Our very lives depend on it.
Vote for strong, steady leadership.
Bush.

Kerry takes another dump on the US Military
John Kerry began his political career by lying about his country and the military. He betrayed the men he served with in Vietnam and used them for craven political advantage. He allied himself with foreign forces that wanted to see America fail.
By accusing our troops in Iraq of negligence and incompetence based upon false reports, John Kerry's political career will end with his lying about his country and the military, by his betrayal of those who put their lives on the line in the war on terror, using them for crass political advantage, and allying himself with foreign forces that want to see America fail.
And so the circle closes upon itself.
The snake catches its own tail.
The symmetry is superb.
Vote for Bush.
He won't betray the USA.

Get to the polls & vote Republican
Ain't no pocket deep enough
Sandy Burger, former Clinton administration National Security Advisor, and former Kerry advisor, firmly denies any complicity in the theft of 380 tons of HMX and RDX explosives missing from the al Qaqaa Military Installation in Iraq.
Stuffing documents into your pants and socks is one thing. You'd have to be at least as big as Teddy Kennedy to have the room to stuff 380 tons of explosives into your clothes. Comon.
In space no one can hear you lie
Kerry and his overly-large head shown above taking credit for tonight's total eclipse of the moon. Mr. Kerry vows to make the moon glow the same color as his recent pumpkin hued man-tan.
[The BLOG note for the satirically impaired: the eclipse (totality) will be
visible on the east coast at ~10:23 PM & will have nothing whatsoever to do with
Kerry's long list of contradictory or physically impossible campaign promises]

SLATE Votes...
SLATE magazine's staff voted KERRY with the following notable exceptions:
David Bradley Kenner, Intern...BUSH
Steven Landsburg, Economic Writer...BUSH
Rachael Larimore, Copy Editor...BUSH
Josh Payton, Interactive Designer...COBB
Jack Shafer, Editor at Large...BADNARIK
Let's face it, I was surprised that anyone on the staff admitted to being on Bush's side and they are to be commended for going against the monolithic lefty belief system that rules their workplace.
The biggest surprise for me was seeing my favorite commie, Christopher Hitchens, run with the liberal herd and vote for Kerry. I guess some things never change.

Media bias, lies, & missing explosives
CBS 'news magazine' 60 Minutes planned to bash the Bush administration with a segment on 380 tons of missing HMX and RDX explosives from the al Qaqaa Military Installation in Iraq. The segment was to air on election eve but it was scrapped when it became clear that, "the story wouldn't hold," said the executive producer of the show.
Instead, The New York Times printed the article on the front page yesterday. Our own paper, The Tampa Tribune ran with the following headline on page one: "Tons of Explosives Disappear in Iraq: Material Taken From Site After Invasion Led By U.S." The media hammered home the story with each news cycle.
Kerry found the headline handy and pounced on the story with both hands. Almost immediately, 'Jenjus' John began referencing the story as yet another instance of Bush's mishandling of the war in Iraq.
Perhaps this was the October Surprise designed to send the Bush camp into an uncontrolled downward spiral from which they couldn't recover in time for the election. If so, perhaps they should've run with a story based on fact.
The story fell apart when an NBC reporter, who had been embedded with the 101st Airborne, confirmed the report that upon the troops' arrival at the al Qaqaa
installation on 4/10/03 the 380 tons of explosives were already missing. An old CNN report states the explosives were missing as early as January 2003.
This is not a story. This is a highly coordinated effort by the mainstream media to change the outcome of a U.S. election. Plain and simple.
Don't hold your breath waiting for a retraction by The New York Times or any other paper. The media is already hard at work making this square peg story fit into the round hole they have manufactured for it. Remember, Dan Rather, forged documents and all, still works for CBS.
Rush Limbaugh aptly referred to the whole thing as having "the smell of coordination."
To me, it smells like a steaming mound of excrement.

Engage...brain before speaking
William Shatner, of Star Trek fame, is just one of the 7000 earthbound who want to become spacebound, if only for a little while. Shatner will be forking over $210,000 to fly in Richard Branston's suborbital tourist flight in the V.S.S. Enterprise, a craft based on a scaled-up version of SpaceShipOne.
Meanwhile, Patrick Stewart, of Star Trek: The Next Generation fame, is one earthling who believes space travel would take up resources that we should be directing at Earth. Stewart says, "I would like to see us get this place right first before we have the arrogance to put significantly flawed civilizations out on to other planets."
If our society had felt this way in the 1900's, we would have continued using established transportation like railroads & steamships, and not arrogantly wasted precious resources on the unknown & experimental flying contraptions, like airplanes. Goodness knows, we had pressing social problems even back then.
This proves once & for all, that Captain Kirk beats Picard hands down.
If he said it once, and said it twice...
Is there anything Kerry won't say to be elected?
During the second presidential debate, Kerry professed to being more attuned to international concerns on Iraq because of his meeting with the entire United Nations Security Council just a week before the October 2002 vote on Resolution 1441. Kerry said, "This president hasn't listened. I went to meet with the members of the Security Council in the week before we voted. I went to New York. I talked to all of them, to find out how serious they were about really holding Saddam Hussein accountable."
Speaking before the Council on Foreign Relations in New York in December of 2003, Kerry claimed to have superior knowledge in foreign affairs because he met "with the entire Security Council, and we spent a couple of hours talking about what they saw as the path to a united front in order to be able to deal with Hussein."
If he said it once, and said it twice, it must be true, right? Oops.
Thanks to old-fashioned investigative journalism by Joel Mowbray of The Washington Times, it has been uncovered that this is yet another example of Kerry saying whatever it takes to be elected.
Of the five ambassadors on the Security Council in 2002 who were reached for comment, four said they had never met Mr. Kerry. The four also said that no one who worked for their countries' U.N. missions had met with Kerry either. Oops.
What the Kerry campaign meant to say was he met with the French U.N.representative and the British U.N.representative...a bit of an exaggeration from saying not once, but twice, that he had met with all 15 members of the Security Council. Oops.
The truth is there isn't much truth coming from Kerry.
Vote accordingly.

Stealing yard signs...how low can they go?
A couple of days ago, a nice Republican woman pulled into my drive way and knocked on my door. First she apologized for bothering me, and then she asked where I had obtained my BUSH/CHENEY yard signs because she wanted some for her lawn. When I offered her one of my extra signs, she told me she didn't want to take mine & merely wanted to know where she could get her own. I assured her I had extras & gave her one.
The following night, BUSH/CHENEY signs were stolen from yards all over my neighborhood, including my own. Our local Republican campaign office relates that this isn't an isolated incident, but is happening all over Florida.
The purloined yard signs were easily replaced, but as I see it, this illustrates the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. One is a sneaky, lying bunch of fools who think nothing of trespassing on private property in the dead of night to silence someone else's freedom of speech.
The other is polite, honest, and respectful of the rights of others.
Let me ask you, which side would you prefer to see run the country?
I think the choice is crystal clear. W.

Become informed -- then vote!
Voting is a privilege...not a right.
Take the time to inform yourself of relevant political information. Don't just believe the flashy images crafted by skilled media manipulators. Look at actions,
look at the record, not just words.
Do the research. It's worth the trouble to get it right.
Think before you vote.

The French have a saying for... you Kerry voters!
"Nostalgie pour la boue," (Yearning for the Mud) gives way to, "Nostalgie pour la defaite," (Yearning for the Defeat) of America, that is.
This is from a must read article at American Digest, "Yearning for the Mud: The Kerry-Heinz Ticket & The Psychotic Party Platform." Heres the link:
americandigest
just look for Vanderleun's post for 10/21/04.
It is a well-written, powerful piece that accurately describes the malaise of American defeatism that Kerry & his voters see as "the way things must be," namely an America that is weak, retiring, and apologetic to the world social milieu.
Seriously folks, look this up. It's depressing & sad, but worth the read.

Liveshot goes shooting
Fortunately for Kerry, it isn't wabbit hunting season in Ohio.
Kerry went goose hunting in Ohio today, ostensibly for relaxation, but some say that it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that it was a calculated political stunt to convince conservative NRA voters that he isn't an anti-gun, man-tan, manicured, foo- foo man.
In Brahman fashion, Kerry had an aide-de-camp not only carry his geese carcasses for him, but for all we know, had the aide shoot the birds for him, too.
It's all about the photo-op with Kerry...not substance.
No question of paternity at Yankee Stadium now
The wheels fell off the Yankees pitching machine last night & the best team won the 7th playoff game... *sigh* (I say this as a long-time Yankee fan who has Red Sox fans in the family, so I must keep my comments within civil limits)
Good luck to the Cardinals & the Astros tonight.
Whatever happens, I'll be rooting for the Red Sox (now that my Yankees are out of the running) *sigh*

Tuh-Ray-Zuh meows...again
It takes two to catfight. So far Weird Lady Teresa Heinz is the sole participant in the latest election scuffle over her remarks about First Lady Laura Bush, "I don't know that she's ever had a real job--I mean, since she's been grown up."
No sooner did the full-frontal damage control wrath of the Verry/Leftwards camp descend upon her heiress shoulders, that Weird Lady Heinz apologized by saying... "[I] am "sincerely sorry I had not remembered her important work in the past."
In one fell swoop, Ms. Heinz managed to insult not only First Lady Laura Bush, but working moms AND stay-at-home moms across the nation. Remember that, ladies, when you cast your votes this November.
To her credit, Laura Bush probably will not touch this ugly issue. She will not make remarks about loose lips or one-too-many gin-soaked raisin cocktails. In short, this catfight will be short one cat. Laura Bush is above that kind of behavior. Remember that, ladies, when you cast your votes this November.
Too bad for Ms. Heinz, class doesn't coming in little red bottles you can pour over your food.

Crawford Paper Endorses Kerry...Crawford Furious
The mainstream media has gleefully reported that The Lone Star Iconoclast, the Crawford, Texas paper has endorsed Kerry for President.
Did you also know that the weekly paper of circulation ~543 is not printed in Crawford, but in Clinton, Texas?
Did you know that the Publisher & Editor-in-Chief is W. Leon Smith, democratic Mayor of Clinton, Texas, who was the unsuccessful democratic candidate for state legislature not once, but twice?
Did you know that The Lone Star Iconoclast was founded by Mayor Smith in December 2000, AFTER the election?
I even read that many Crawford residents were furious over the endorsement.
I guess the mainstream media left out some of the facts...not to mention the giant axe-grinding sounds coming from the publisher's office.

The Tampa Tribune...undecided & indecisive?
The Tampa Tribune has refused to endorse either Bush or Kerry for President. To prove it, this Sunday's commentary section contained a full page screed on the reasoning behind this namby-pamby indecision entitled, "Why We Cannot Endorse President Bush for Re-Election". To keep things fair and unbiased, they devote approximately 2% of the article to the other side, namely "Why Kerry Concerns Us Too."
So there it is. The decision is...NO DECISION? This is the best they can do?
The editors explain their irresolute resolution by saying, "We have written today mostly about Bush because he was our choice the last time around and we believed his conservative principles were most closely aligned with ours."
Conservative principles? This is a ludicrous remark in light of the slow and inexorable slide into the land of its liberal sister paper, The St. Pete Times, ever since the hiring of Rosemary Goudreau as Editorial Page Editor. The liberal sea change has been evident for some time.
The only thing conservative about the Tribune is the way they mete out bold action: one timid baby-step at a time, because they wouldn't want to change too fast lest they scare away the loyal readership.
So there it is. The 'decision' really is that the Tribune is for a Kerry presidency, but they're too craven to come out and say it. I guess some might call that a highly nuanced position, I just call it gutless.

I feel pretty...oh, so pretty
When I said, "I don't cross picket lines," I meant...
Last summer, when John Kerry refused to cross a police picket line at the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Boston, he said in a stentorian tone, "I don't cross picket lines. I never have."
Yet, on Monday night, the Kerry motorcade crossed not one, but two Florida police picket lines en route to a Get-Out-The-Vote rally in Orlando.
Perhaps this Kerry 'change of heart' was motivated by the realization that the Orlando Police Department was represented by the Fraternal Order of Police Local 25, which the local media labels as 'a Republican-leaning union'.
Does politics come into play when a cop takes on the bad guys? Does it matter whether a cop is a Republican or a Democrat when he or she takes a bullet in the course of doing their job? Of course not.
This incident makes it clear that if it weren't for the crass political opportunism at the core of John Kerry, he wouldn't have any core at all.
Obviously, what Kerry meant was, "I don't cross picket lines...unless they get in my way of a vote."

A metaphor for the Kerry campaign?
It's good to be the King & Queen of Ketchup
2003 EFFECTIVE TAX RATE:*
George & Laura Bush 30.4%
Typical Middle Class Family 20%
John & Teresa Kerry 12.8%
The Kerry camp will raise YOUR taxes, all the while keeping theirs at the lowest level their stable of accountants can wrangle.
So, when it comes to telling the truth about taxes, who is bamboozling whom?

Keep an eye on dem democrats
Just when you thought they couldn't sink any lower, the DNC manages to surprise us with more disgraceful tactics.
A page from the Democrats' "Colorado Election Day Manual: A detailed guide to voting in Colorado" was leaked to the unsuspecting public. In Chapter 2 they urge their operatives to look for 'Republican scare tactics' and if none are found, launch a pre-emptive strike. Issue a news release "reviewing Republican tactics in your area or state." Quote "party/minority/civil rights leadership as denouncing tactics that discourage people from voting."
In other words: cry foul (LIE), bang on the table and screech discrimination (LIE), play the race card (LIE), muddy the water (LIE), and above all, LIE.
After all, absence of proof is not proof of absence. Nevermind that there's no proof,
the proof WILL BE fabricated. Just look @ CBS News and their forged documents.
These tactics are offensive to me as an American and I don't think I'm alone. This isn't my America. This isn't how Americans run elections. This isn't how Americans behave. Period.
My god, what ever happened to fair play ?
Never forget...

Media, your bias is popping out all over
Everyone knows about Dan Rather's freakazoid past & his bias against the Bush administration. Yet he continues to sit in the anchor seat @ CBS News.
Everyone knows about ABC News Political Director Mark Halperin and the famous memo revealing his bias for all to see. How many know that Mark's father is Morton Halperin, the Senior Vice-President of the left-wing Center for American Progress (CAP) and Director of the Open Society Policy Center established by billionaire financier, George Soros?
Yes, this is the same Morton Halperin who has been a left-wing apparatchik since the 1960's when he advocated against the war in Vietnam, fought for unilateral U.S. nuclear disarmament whether the Soviets disarmed or not, was involved in several incidents of classified documents being leaked to The New York Times, namely the Pentagon papers & reports of U.S. bombing in Cambodia. In 1998, Morton Halperin became director of policy planning for the U.S. State Department. During his tenure, 15 State Department laptop computers, chockful of classified info, just disappeared
into the proverbial ether. Perhaps Sandy Berger can shed some light on the subject of multiple laptop purloinage, but that's another blog entry.
This is the environment in which little Mark grew into adulthood. Is it any wonder why he has such a hard time understanding a concept like a free, unbiased press and why he is unapologetic about helping the left at every opportunity?
I look back at events in the recent past and I can't help wondering about what else the main stream media has nudged along to aid their left-leaning agenda. How much information have they shaded or withheld over the years? How long have they been snowing us, all the while pretending to be fair?
Everyone knows about ABC News Political Director Mark Halperin and the famous memo revealing his bias for all to see. How many know that Mark's father is Morton Halperin, the Senior Vice-President of the left-wing Center for American Progress (CAP) and Director of the Open Society Policy Center established by billionaire financier, George Soros?

Hallelujah!
Hallelujah
It sure didn't take long for Kerry/Edwards to use Christopher Reeve's death for political purposes. In an emotionally-charged, fire & brimstone revival speech worthy of Elmer Gantry, John Edwards boldly promised to cure spinal cord injuries, juvenile diabetes, Alzheimer's and basically everything else if only you elect John Kerry.
That his position is scientifically baseless isn't important. He made an impassioned plea to the emotions of the sick & the elderly, and like the snake-oil salesmen of the old days, he sounded good when he said it! Style over substance. Lies over facts.
Emotion over science.
I wonder if stem cell research would find a cure for serial prevarication?

"The place where we were?"
Kerry's approach for America's war on terror is for us to get back to the place where we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance.
Back to the place where we were...before September 11th, when we were all safe & sound & snug in our beds?
HistoryCentral.com lists 41 majorincidents between 1968-1998, including but not limited to the following:
1972 Olympic games in Munich. Deathtoll: 11 members of Israeli Olympic team
1983 U.S. Embassy in Beirut. Deathtoll: 83
1983 Gulf Air plane. Deathtoll: 166 passengers
1983 Marine barracks in Beirut. Deathtoll: 241 Marines
1984 U.S. Embassy in Beirut. Deathtoll 15
1985 Cruise ship Achille Lauro hijacking. Deathtoll: 1
1988 Pam Am flight 103. Deathtoll 259 passengers.
1993 World Trade Center bombing. Deathtoll 6, 1000 injured.
1995 Tokyo subway nerve gas released. Deathtoll: 12
1995 The Murrah Federal building bombing in Oklahoma City.Deathtoll:168
1996 Khobar Tower bombing. Deathtoll: 19+
1998 U.S. Embassies bombed in Kenya & Tanzania.
2000 USS Cole bombing in Yemen. Deathtoll: 17 crewmembers
It is Kerry's own anti-war worldview that disqualifies him to lead our nation. His
views about Vietnam and Nicaragua are of the 'blame America first' variety. His voting record in the Senate included being against every weapon system that came his way, voting against the Persian Gulf War, and proposing to reduce the intelligence budget after the WTC bombing in 1993.
The very notion that terrorism is a criminal justice problem is a dangerous belief system for our president to hold. We must continue to take this fight to the terrorists, whatever it takes.
Just ask the terrorists who they'd rather see in the White House come January. You can bet your life they won't say 'W', and just what does that say?
Flush the Johns!
Vote Dubya.

ire fortiter quo nemo ante iit.
Matter meets antimatter. No, its not a Star Trek episode. The U.S. Air Force is pursuing antimatter weapons.

It depends on what the meaning of flipflop is...
Our nation is at war against a barbaric foe that targets innocents, including little school children. President Bush has taken the fight to the terrorists and he will continue the unrelenting assault on their lower-than-poop heads. Now is the time for steady leadership in America, not gasbag nano-nuanced vacillation that will embolden our enemies. Keep America strong. Vote Republican. Dubya reloaded.

More Kerry pre-debate preparation
Put your right foot in, you put your right foot out
You put your right foot in & you shake it all about.
It's Hokey Pokey time.
The Vulcan bear says...
Let logic be your guide & facts be your currency when you are trying to persuade others to accept your viewpoints. Emotional rants will not persuade the truly wise & will only annoy the Vulcan bear.

I Love Haliburton
Will John Edwards bring up Haliburton in tonight's debate? If he does, he will be slam-dunked by our VP Dick Cheney.
Here's why:
There are few companies world-wide that can do the colossal 'terraforming' scale of work that Haliburton can undertake. Haliburton is the only American company; the rest are based in foreign companies. Is the Kerry/Edwards ticket ready to admit they would outsource such good, high-paying jobs out of the USA? I think not. Especially in light of which administration awarded many of the contracts in the first place. Tune in tonight & see the sparks.
