America In Wonderland
Although 1984 comes to my mind as well, here's an interesting article from The American Thinker:
America In Wonderland
No, I'm madder than you Obama, but I'm madder angry and you're madder insane.

Good Snake
"This is a speckled kingsnake. He is harmless and he kills and eats other BAD snakes. Do not kill these! This is the best thing you can have around your house. So let him be!"
OK, comon down to my house, speckled kingsnake.
I feel the same way when flocks of egrets congregate on my lawn and peck away at the bugs.
Eat up, guys.

Double Down On Dumb
University Students Are Struggling To Read Entire Books
During a brief foray between my science classes and into taking a few business classes, I ran across a student who on her first day of hearing she had to learn about graphs in our Intro To Microeconomics class went into a meltdown. She threw her writing implement across her desk and yelled, "Graphs?" She clearly didn't expect any math in her major of business administration.
Wow.
It didn't take me long to realize I wasn't a good fit for the business administration curriculum and I decided to stick with science.
That was years ago, but now they're whining about reading books?
Oh, we're in so much trouble.

Grand Cat Blog Friday
For this Cat Blog Friday...
... my daughter's cat, Baby, who hides when she hears the sound of packing because she hates going into her cat box. This past Monday she hid in the bed's box spring and my husband ended up lifting the entire bed assembly so our daughter could grab her.
My husband said Baby was very surprised when her cat cave was upended. "Mess with Grandpa and you get an earthquake."
It's always hectic around here, but I'm sure it's that way in many of your homes, too, especially around tax time.
Happy Friday, everybody!

Mosquitoville
In just the time I've been sitting at the computer trying to resolve my log in problem, I've been bitten eight times by the same mosquito and all of the bites are on my right arm!
Make that nine... I just found one on my elbow.
It's one of the small ones that are hard to swat... probably a zika one.
