Weebles Wobble
According to this from The Washington Times, "the Senate is expected to spend at least five hours today debating two competing Democratic proposals to start pulling U.S. combat troops out of Iraq."
Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) and Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) have sponsored an amendment that calls for cutting and running from Iraq to begin by Dec. 31, 2006.
Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) and Russ Feingold (D-WI) have a binding amendment calling for all combat troops cut and run from Iraq by July 1, 2007.
Wasn't a similar measure offered last week overwhelmingly defeated in the Senate? Enough time and money has already been wasted on these idiotic proposals.
The Weebles just don't get it...
America doesn't cut and run.

We may not "cut and run" but we certainly dont seem to be doing anythng except be used for target practice. We are the most powerful nation on earth. We could end this quickly but we wont!
The hit on Zarqawi was one for our side and his own documents showed that al Qaeda believes we are winning. Don't believe all the gloom & doom from the MSM. It's not all bad.
What's the rush?
Dems just want credit for coming up with a "proposal." Talk about ugly politics. We leave Iraq, the place goes to shit, and innocent people will be slaughtered. It'll be the Congo all over again.
What I find most outrageous is that these mopes are conducting these hearings on the heels of finding two of our military men butchered by al Qaeda thugs. If there was ever a time to hang tough, it is now. But no, we have to deal with this cowardly behavior from half of the Senate. That is unacceptable.
Indeed, the MSM paints a bleak picture, but an untrue one.
We have killed well over 100 terrorists and captured nearly 800 after Zarq's death, and a little under half of that was conducted by the Iraqi forces with no help!
It's not as bad as they would like us to think!
I think Kerry got snipped while he was in Vietnam. Old war wound they call it.
We should be cut and run by now.
It was a big mistake to invade
iraq the 911 terrorist was from
saudia arabia. There is a lot of blood on bush's hands. That's his
cross to bear,i know a man of God
and he is no man of God.
he does make it sound like a vasectomy that went awry.
elmer's bro: was that before or after the thorn prick which Kerry finagled into a purple heart?
michelle: I disagree. I'd rather fight the islamofascists in Iraq than here. And by their own documents, we are whupping them.
I am still grieving from the recent two deaths. I can't think about politics at the moment. Good post. Have a great day! Hugs
Sure, great time to cut n run when the insurgents are weakening more and more by the day and we took out Zarq!..UGH!!
woman: exactly. Now is definitely not the time to quit.
Both were soundly defeated today, with John Kerry's being majorly defeated.
Shouldn't Kerry, Levin and Reed have to pay some sort of fine?
j.d.: do you think we could impose a stupid fine?
After both bills were defeated, out came Barbara Boxer to declare victory. As The Phoenix said, Dems just want credit for coming up with a "proposal."
Cube, I agree with you--the timing of these two bills is outrageous. The politicos should have gotten together to send a message of outrage about the butchery of our two soldiers but couldn't imagine even that little bit of guts. GRRRR!
Michelle, Iraq was funding families of homicide bomers, and guess what... We just found some chemical weapons.
Jihad knows no boundries. We have to attack it wherever we find it.
We haven't found all the WMD's in Iraq because they had 18 months to shuffle them off to Russia, Syria, & maybe Lebanon. We have satellite photos of trucks moving "stuff" out of Iraq and probably it wasn't Twinkies!
