BEM Alert
The main crew characters for the new Star Trek movie have been cast, but Paramount is holding an open casting call for background actors with interesting and unique facial features.
The casting call lists features such as "long necks, small heads, extremely large heads, wide-set eyes, bug eyes, close-set eyes, large forehead, short upper lip, pronounced cheekbones, over- or under-sized ears and/or nose, facial deformities".
Got A Long Neck, Bug Eyes? Hollywood's Calling
Bug eyed monsters are welcome too.

Well, the form fitting uniform is right out. ;)
I wonder how one determines if their "facial deformity" is sufficient enough to audition? And then, if you get the part, is that harmful to your self-image? LOL!
Are you kidding me?!? Shaun of the Dead is playing Scotti?!? HAHAHAHA! I might have to see this now!
I think it would be a trip to be a Red Shirt or even an extra playing the first Federation member from the Arachnid phylum.
I'm just glad this next movie isn't going to be just a long episode of TNG. Insurrection was so bad, I haven't gotten around to seeing Nemesis yet.
And yes, that is Simon Pegg of Shaun fame.
Nemesis may actually be the absolute worst of the TNG movies.
If you see it, get ready for your eyes to frickin' bleed.
If it's worse than Insurrection, then I think I'll use my DVD as a frisbee instead of making my eyes bleed!
BTW I do have my own set of pointy ears.
I was just popping in to ask, "Is that Simon Pegg?" but I see by the comments that it is. Right on!
I wonder if my big butt would qualify?
