Sandee: I agree. I don't have much experience hosting fancy dinner parties at my house, but I can safely say that it would never, ever occur to me to serve chocolates in a shoe.
Jan: Exactly. Is there some epic poem or Biblical passage that harkens to something like this? Or did the Chef stand too close to the Sabra liqueur that night? I'd like to know the backstory.
Ed Bondekerenka: I looked, but my huge staff (ME) couldn't find that this was fake. I think this might be a huge faux pas, which happens, but usually dies down without too much fanfare. Not enough people read my blog to drag this out into an international incident or even a confrontation at a 7-11 store.
Messymimi: I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when the Chef was questioned. I'm sure, "What were you thinking?", was at the top of the list. I wonder if there was another plan 'a foot' because almost world-wide, shoes are never welcome at any table.

Maybe they can put chocolates in a bowl next time.
Well, I would be a bit taken back too. There are just some things you shouldn't do and I'm thinking this is one that should have happened.
Have a fabulous day. ♥
I have no interest in eating out of a shoe.
I would like to know if there was an explanation
I'm looking for "theOnion.com"
Someone must have been out of his/her culinary mind.
Gimmee a shoe horn full of carrot cake!
LL: A very reasonable statement.

Kid: Me either, but I have heard of people drinking champagne out of a shoe. There's no telling what some people do without supervision.
