From Local 6 News.com comes
this shocking story about a woman jogger who was stalked and killed by a large gator.
According the the wildlife commission, there have been 25 fatal alligator attacks in Florida since 1948. They recommend being careful around canals, especially during dusk or dawn when gators are more likely to feed.
Florida is not for the squeamish.

There is a small town here in Texas named Eagle Lake where the gators outnumber the people. Cops are always being called to get them out of yards and off the roads. Such fun!
ohhhhh well that rules out Fla for mah next vacation..lolz..hava gr9 weekend Cube!
Holy crap! I had no idea gators will chase after you and stalk you on land.
That is why this particular story made me nervous. This gator stalked this poor woman on land & dragged her into the water to eat.
gawd, when you combine that with cockroaches the size of a car, I don't think I'll ever go to Florida! Yikes.
Those gators must have been very hungry to chase down people. That is scary!!
I heard on the radio that this lady was dangling her feet over a bridge...so, it's not as horrible as an alligator leaping out of the water a la Jaws and snatching her off a running track on dry land per se.
It's still pretty frickin scary though.
Candy gram. Plumber, maam. Land shark.
Oh land shark! Come on in!
jessey: she was jogging near a canal (not a track!). One witness said she was dangling her feet in the water & maybe that's how she lured it onto the land. You know they are pretty fast.
All I know is I'm not jogging by any water anytime soon. :)
jessey, you don't live in Florida. I wouldn't worry about it in Arizona!
