Bellagio Heist

Hey, did you hear about the heist at the Bellagio Hotel-Casino in Vegas?

No, not the one involving sledgehammers and a pig mask.

This heist...

Charging $75 for a lobster tail ought to be a crime.

Corruption

Dereliction Of Duty - Four Broward County Deputies Remained Outside Florida High School, Neighboring Police Dept. Were First To Enter Building

One deputy not going in might be a coward, but four is an order to 'stand down'. Where do these orders come from?

Here's the backstory from Sundance at The Conservative Tree House:

Broward County Sheriff's Office Did Not "Miss Warning Signn" Or Make "Mistakes ..."

Busted Again

Will CNN ever learn?

Shooting Survivor: CNN Gave Me "Scripted Question" After Denying Question About Armed Guards

Colton Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC who shielded classmates during the shooting, said, "CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions and it ended up being all scripted."

CNN wouldn't even entertain the idea of hiring veterans as armed school security guards during the scripted gun control agenda driven "town hall."

Every weekday I watch HLN's morning news show. HLN is CNN's sister network. Yes, my husband teases me about getting brainwashed and defecting to the other side, but I watch it anyway. This morning the lead story was the "town hall" and the clips aired were gotcha moments by the useful tool children and some parents demanding gun control.

There was no mention of Colton Haab and the allegations of CNN's "manipulation" of the program.

I'm curious to see how this newest CNN fake news bust will play out with the other arbiters of "news."

They call this a Red-Lipped Batfish, but I could've sworn I ran across one at Publix the other day.

Right Again, Rush

Rush: 'Reason Hillary Isn’t Charged Is Because...Obama Would Have to Be Exposed'

I have to agree with Rush. According to the left, obama's legacy MUST be protected at ALL cost.

Great White Hoot

This Rare White Owl Has Been Found, And It Has The Most Mesmerizing Eyes We’ve Ever Seen.

He's a rare albino screech owl and, yes, he is stunning.

It's The Culture...

The Left Is Reaping the Whirlwind Off The Culture They Made

Andrew Klaven writes, "The left wants to defend gangstas and "transgressive" art and antifa thugs — but when the shooting starts, they blame the guns."

The hue and cry over gun control is just a part of the problem.

"Over the last fifty years, it's the left that has assaulted every moral norm and disdained every religious and cultural restraint."

Spot on article, Mr. Klaven. Short and to the point.

Not Dreamers

Suspect Is Linked To THIRD Murder After A Severed Head With A Chilling Note Is Found Near A Texas Walking Trail

Are these criminals illegal thugs? Or were they born in the USA via chain migration? In any event, they make an excellent case for strict immigration reform because we have enough home-grown criminals and don't need to import more.

Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

What, it's the Year of the Dog, you say?

Good point. This is for you:

Great, just when I got used to writing Year of the Rooster on my checks ;)

Happy Friday, everybody.

New JournOlist?

Sharyl Attkisson Explains The Origins Of The 2016 'Fake News' Narrative In TedX Talk

"Attkisson pointed out that "fake news" in the form of tabloid journalism and false media narratives has always been around under different names. But she noticed that in 2016, there seemed to be a concerted effort by the MSM to focus America's attention on the idea of "fake news" in conservative media."

I agree. If you look back, you'll find this narrative building collusion between journalists and other leftists has been going on long before it was called "fake news."

Remember The JournOlist from 2010? It exposed "journalists" coordinating articles with each other to cover up obama scandals in order to get him re-elected. Two names on the JournOlist, Ben Smith and David Corn, were also first to publish the fake Steele dossier at BuzzFeed & Mother Jones. Sounds like they're still colluding.

Just as a rose by any other name smells as sweet, a scandalous agenda-driven attempt by "journalists" to control the views of the citizenry, smells like a cesspool no matter what you call it.

Universal Smoke

Say it ain't so, Uncle Joe...

Biden Calls Trump 'A Joke,' Says He's 'Doing Everything Putin Ever Wanted'

Are we living in the same world or is there some special parallel universe for democrats?

-Wasn't it obama who told then Russian President Medvedev ON A LIVE MICROPHONE that he would have "more flexibility" to negotiate on missile defense afterthe Nov 2012 election?

-Wasn't it Hillary and the Clinton Foundation implicated in the Uranium One deal that allowed the Russians to have control of 20% of the world's uranium supply?

Wait, this behavior isn't new. Let's go back in time and begin with FDR, Harry Hopkins, Alger Hiss and the Venona Intercepts:

It’s The Democrats Who Collude With The Russians

So democrats, it is YOU that have much to answer for in your long history of Russian collusion... well, in this world.

Matter Matters

From Thomas Lifson at The American Thinker comes this eye-opening piece:

Parents Of Slain Pizza Hut Robber Angry That Victim Used A Gun Against Him

As a parent myself, I can't imagine a greater nightmare than losing a child, but these parents have to understand that their loss was the direct result of very bad judgement on their son's part.

To quote Mr. Lifson, "I may be an extremist, but it seems to me that if one decides to commit a crime, the victims should have more rights than the perpetrator, especially the right to defend themselves from the presumption of violence that accompanies a robbery, home invasion, or other property crime."

I agree.

Poor Little Thing

This winter we noticed that there was a lounge of lizards living in our fireplace. They drove our indoor cat crazy and she'd hunt for them day and night, but they were sheltered behind the glass fireplace doors and were able to torment her with impunity.

Then one day we stopped seeing them and we wondered what happened to the little dears.

Well, today I was cleaning around the fireplace in preparation for a visit by my in-laws (yes, deep, deep cleaning) and I found this little brown anole (Anolis sagrei) skeleton behind a stack of books.

One mystery solved.

Enough excitement, now it's back to the drudgery of cleaning :(

Stephen King Apologizes For Tweet Mocking Republicans Involved In Train Wreck

I was a faithful reader of King's books until "Nightmares And Dreamscapes" (2009). I got to the story about the chattering teeth, and haven't read a single one of his books since. I stopped because I felt he had lost his writer's touch. Now I realize he has also lost his mind.

From Sundance who writes at The Conservative Treehouse comes this insightful post:
