Judge Praises 30-year-old Son's Legal Research, Boots Him From Parents' House Anyway
[Cut to the 2:36 minute mark on video to see the narcissistic attention to his hair while speaking to the press after court]
The parents of this 30-year-old moocher had to go to the New York Supreme Court to have him evicted from their home. Michael Rotondo didn't pay rent or help out and his parents even offered him money to leave, but he refused.
I find this situation absurd on so many levels, yet there are people who defend this shiftless azzhat's position.
I would say a pox on both their ... er, sides. These obsequious parents are only now realizing the depth of indolence of their slacker son who, by the way, has a child of his own that he doesn't support.
I'm curious to hear what you think of this case. Please opine.

Josiah Zayner: ‘I want to help humans genetically modify themselves’
The DIY DNA kits utilize a technique that involves an enzyme complex known as CRISPR/Cas9, found in many bacteria. CRISPR (short for "clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats"), is a short, repeated sequence of RNA that matches the genetic sequence the researcher wants to modify. It works in concert with Cas9, an enzyme that cuts DNA like a pair of molecular scissors.
If that wasn't bad enough, Professor George Church, of Harvard University, who pioneered the use of the CRISPR technique, said it would be possible for criminals to use the technique to disappear from forensic databases or evade detection.
Criminals could alter their DNA to evade justice with new genetic editing tools
It could undermine DNA as a tool of crime detection completely or, at the very least, make its use as flimsy as a lie detector. The implications are sobering.
Now you think of the sequelae of your work?

Diversity Bridge Is Breaking, My Fair Lady
FTA: "Prior to pancaking, Diversity Bridge had been championed as “an engineering feat come to life.” One of the geniuses who accomplished this “feat” is an engineer who was hailed by President Obama in 2015 as a “champion of change”: Atorod Azizinamini, director of FIU’s Accelerated Bridge Construction Center (now renamed the Accelerated Bridge Destruction Center). The firm that built the bridge, Munilla Construction Management (MCM), is run by the Munilla brothers—Raul, Juan, Jorge, Lou, Fernando, and Pedro (is that a construction firm or the latest incarnation of Menudo?). And then we have Leonor Flores, MCM’s senior manager.
“Diversity” should never trump competence.

What? Oh, sorry. You know him as St. Patrick. He was little Maewyn Succat at home in Scotland with his parents, Calpornius and Conchessa. Dad was a Roman diplomat, and Mom was a niece of St. Martin of Tours, a Hungarian who grew up in Italy but mostly lived in France. Then Maewyn got grabbed by pirates and sold to the Irish. It’s a familiar story, not unlike many of our own family histories.

I don't watch the Oscars and haven't seen any of the recent crop of Oscar-worthy films, but this story is so rich in irony that I felt I had to share it. Bear with me.
Frances McDormand’s Alleged Oscar Thief Arrested
Oscar winner Frances McDormand's acceptance speech included a phrase "inclusion rider" that is going to become a household term. She put out a call for fellow actors to insist that an inclusion rider be put in their contracts that would reflect real demographics, i.e., women, minorities, LGBTQ, disabled, etc..
Wouldn't you know that mere hours later, her Oscar would be "allegedly" stolen by an entitled minority who felt it was his.
Oh, the irony.
Frances, welcome to my world. I live awash in diversity 24/7/365. I don't live in a gated community and I don't have armed security on my payroll.
And you and your ilk want to take my guns away?
Dream on, Frances.

It may not mean too much to many of you today, but I happened to run across this on Powerline Try To Remember and I thought it was worth remembering.
Composer Harvey Schmidt died last week in Houston at the age of 88. Most notably, Schmidt wrote the music for "The Fantasticks" (don't forget the 'k') and it opened at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in Greenwich Village in 1960 and continued its run for a mere 42 years.
Did you know that Jerry Orbach, well known as Det. Lenny Briscoe on Law & Order, played the character of El Gallo who launched the show when it opened in 1960.
What an interesting life Mr. Orbach lived.
Twitter Is Censoring Donald Trump Jr.’s Twitter Feed — On A Drudge Report Tweet On Maxine Waters
Now let's see Twitter censor Maxine "low IQ and outta her fraking gourd" Waters' twitter feed for her racist, bigoted statements about conservatives. The phrase "potentially sensitive content" cuts both ways, right?
