Spider Cloth

Lately I've been referring to 2009 as the Year of the Spider because I keep having close encounters of the arachnic kind. Far too close and creepy encounters.

Well today I read this...

1 Million Spiders Make Golden Silk For Rare Cloth

Holy crap! I'm getting heebie jeebies just thinking about this.

Why?

On Wednesday, the Empire State Building will be lit up in red and yellow in honor of the 60th anniversary of the ChiCom revolution.

Empire State Building Turns Red-yellow For Red China's 60th Anniversary

Golly gee, I can't wait for the Shanghai World Financial Centre building being lit up in red, white, and blue next July 4th.

Yeah, right.

Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday, what with the rash of stupid human behavior lately, including the nutcase performances at the U.N. Summit...

... what better than a cat illustrating a stupid cat trick.

I'm not holding my breath, but my Fridays will be happier when this epidemic of stupid passes.

Sheesh. What a world.

Can't Fix This

Man Dies Teaching Gun Safety

Stupidity, alcohol and guns... not a good mix.

Spidey Lizard

This is not a Photoshop trick. The rock agama, (Agama mwanzae) native to Kenya, is a lizard with a coloration that resembles that of Spiderman.

Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday, after Speaker Pelosi's emotional plea to bring balance to the horrid hate speech circulating our country ...

... what better than a cat crying crocodile tears.

Look at your own House, Madame Speaker, before you speak out of turn.

Happy Friday everybody!

Wholly Foods

Hi-Ho, The Derry-O

When Michelle Obama didn't have any certified organic Tuscan kale on Thursday afternoon...

"The Secret Service and the D.C. police brought in three dozen vehicles and shut down H Street, Vermont Avenue, two lanes of I Street and an entrance to the McPherson Square Metro station. They swept the area, in front of the Department of Veterans Affairs, with bomb-sniffing dogs and installed magnetometers in the middle of the street, put up barricades to keep pedestrians out, and took positions with binoculars atop trucks. Though the produce stand was only a block or so from the White House, the first lady hopped into her armored limousine and pulled into the market amid the wail of sirens."

Meanwhile the rest of America tightens their belts and pulls in the purse strings because BO's policies are wrecking our economy.

A diminishing tide lowers all boats except for those of the elites. They'll still get their certified organic Tuscan kale and Kobe beef. Why? Because they can.

Overload

I'm having the opposite problem today. Thanks to the incompetence of BO's administration and the selective amnesia of the state run media towards most liberal wrongdoing, there is a plethora of blogworthy information out there, so much that I'm having a hard time whittling it down to a post or two.

Gosh, where do I start...

Have you ever had one of those days?

ACORN De-Funding Vote

You may not hear about this from the state run media, but from the Washington Examiner online comes this news...

Senate De-funds ACORN, But Seven Stand By Them

These are the seven senators who voted in favor of continuing to fund ACORN:

-Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I.
-Roland Burris, D-Ill.
-Dick Durbin, D-Ill.
-Bernie Sanders, D-Vt.
-Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.
-Bob Casey, D-Pa.
-Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.

Not voting were Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., and Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va.

If any of these crooked enablers are in your districts, remember their names come come election time.

Assaf Ramon 1989 - 2009

Assaf Ramon, Son of Ilan Ramon, Killed in Jet Crash

IAF F-16 pilot Captain Assaf Ramon was killed Sunday when his jet crashed during a routine training flight over southern Hevron Hills.

Assaf Ramon was the oldest son of Ilan Ramon, Israel's first astronaut who was killed aboard the U.S. space shuttle Columbia in 2003 when it broke apart upon its return to earth.

May they both rest in peace.

Football Time!

Ahhh, the start of football season...

Happy. Happy. Joy. Joy.

I don't expect much from my Buccos this season what with all the upheaval... new coach, new offensive coordinator, the replacement of some of our best players
with inexperienced ones...

OY!

Like I said, my expectations are low for them, but I'll still be watching.

Happy Anniversary

Today is number 27 for me and Mr. Cube.

:-)

You Lie!

Powerline has a good analysis of BO's speech...

Obama's Speech: Did It Help Him?

The speech reminds me of the movie "Sex, Lies, And Videotape", only without the sex and the videotape.

So Much For Free Speech

Just when you think Obama voters can't go any lower...

After biting off the senior citizens pinky finger, the jerk fled the scene.

Child Speak

BO is going to address the children of America on September 9, 2009 on the subject of education.

Obama's Classroom Campaign: No Junior Lobbyist Left Behind

Yeah, how convenient that BO gets a captive audience that can't argue back. This is unprecedented in this country, although it is routinely done in communist countries.

HERE is the actual text of the missive sent from atop to principals across the nation.

I found this line to be particularly offensive:

"Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?"

I don't know about you, but this blatant attempt at the political indoctrination of our children gives me the creeps.

Ex-Con (gressman)

From the American Spectator online comes news that former Rep Jim Traficant (D-OH), is expected to be released from prison today after serving seven years for racketeering, bribery and fraud.

Beam Me Up, Jimbo

Wow, those seven years flew by for me.

I don't know what to say... After 2500 posts, I think I've said it all.
