Burqa Blue

For this Throw Back Thursday:

I originally posted the Burqa Band video in March 2007 and it seemed an apt re-post right about now...

France Is Furious Over Gisele Bundchen's Burqa Disguise

As if Tom Brady doesn't have enough on his plate already.

Sheesh.

Media Prestidigitation

First, I am not against hunters or hunting.

Second, I am appalled at the death of this magnificent lion, especially since there is no sport at all involved during what looks like a canned hunt.

That said, I am shocked that the death and organ harvesting of unborn human babies at the hands of the federally funded Planned Parenthood program is being soft-pedaled by the media.

Marco Rubio Causes Twitter Firestorm By Comparing Cecil The Lion's Death To Planned Parenthood Controversy

Have our moral compasses gone so awry that we, as a society, can't see that both cases elicit moral outrage, one more than the other?

Organic Schmorganic?

This eye-opening article from Forbes is well worth reading:

The Colossal Hoax Of Organic Agriculture

I'm too thrifty to pay more for less, but many people are wasting money on an ideal that doesn't exist.

Bizarro World Order

From American Thinker comes

Redefining Virtue In The Bizarro World

Only in the bizarro world would Obola's transformative plans be good for America and the changes are coming progressively faster.

Will we recognize our country come January 2017?

AIR CONDITIONING Is A ‘Big, Sexist Plot,’ Washington Post Investigation Reveals

Oh Margaret.

Seriously?

I thought this article was from The Onion.

There's a saying in the South... "You can't take off enough clothes to get cool."

Glub Glub...

This is a photo I took from our front porch this morning. We've had a lot of rain in the last few days and our yard is a soggy mess. It's really much worse than it looks in the picture.

Rainfall for July is 4.60 inches.

Rainfall for the last 24 hours is 2.74 inches.

The above stats are illustrative of the comparatively large amount of rain we've gotten since yesterday and the forecast calls for more the rest of the week.

Needless to say, we are all past bored around here.

WHY?

The Empire State building is green tonight for moslem EID.

Empire State Building Turns Green For Eid .

Another Obola nosepick... just what we need.

Happy Happy Sunday

You all know it's been a crazy weekend here, and it's been that way for blog friend at Messy Mimi Meanderings too.

I think a good laugh is in order:

A husband and wife are trying to set up a new password for their computer. The husband puts, "Mypenis," and the wife falls on the ground laughing because on the screen it says, "Error. Not long enough."

Girls, we all know it's not about length...

... it's about the width ;)

Hot Hot Hot

My husband goes out of town with our youngest daughter to visit his parents for a few days and what happens?

Our eldest daughter finds a 'mysterious lump' on our Doberman which turned out to be a sebaceous cyst (no problem)

AND the A/C stopped working.

My husband is lucky he's in Cape Cod.

Spider Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

...a freakish spider cat.

Yeah, I know it freaked me out, too, but I figured what with all that's going on with our government, we'd be better off getting used to freakish things until we can change the dynamic. No thanks Obola.

Happy er Friday....

Throw Back Spider Thursday

We've got the same problem this year... YIKES!

I never ends... the spiders love our pool as much as we do....

After just a few weeks of not using our pool, the enclosure has turned into a spider haven. On Sunday, we (OK, Mr. Cube) caught 33 crab-like spiny orb weaver spiders (Gasteracantha cancriformis) and several egg sacks.

If you click on the above picture, you will get a better look at the thick mass of spiders.

Yikes.

This is what the little devils look like up close...

[The BLOG note: Disclaimer: all spiders were hurt in the making of this post.]

Meghan McCain... Really?

What do you expect from Obola and his Secretary of State John effing Kerry?

Coloring Books For Adults?

I loved coloring in coloring books... when I was a kid!

I came across this annoying commercials for coloring books for adults the other day and I couldn't believe people were actually falling for this loony trend.

Think again:

Adult Coloring Books Selling Like Crazy

Apparently, I was mistaken.

Be Prepared

I found this via Bruce Hudgens from yesterday and I thought I would pass it on...

CONCERN #1: The New York City subway system suffered an atrocious commute today, with some trains being inexplicably stranded in stations for long periods of time.
CONCERN #2: The website “The Dissolve” folded today.
CONCERN #3: United Airlines was forced to ground all of its flights after its computer system mysteriously stopped working.
CONCERN #4: The New York Stock Exchange suspended trading today after its computerized trading system mysteriously stopped working.
CONCERN #5: Immediately after, the Wall Street Journal’s website mysteriously stopped working.
CONCERN #6: More than 2,500 people in Washington, DC mysteriously lost power.
CONCERN #7: Greece is bankrupt and will default on its loans with the European Union (EU), if it does not reach a deal by Sunday.
CONCERN #8: Chinese stock market is starting to crash losing 30% – 40% in 21 days.

"Hackers are attacking our internet and our electric grid with the emphasis on trying to bring our economy to a stop. Without electricity no fuel can get pumped, no trucks will be moving, no food gets delivered. Millions can starve. If the world markets start to crash, countries could demand that U.S pays off on the debt owed. This in turn could cause a massive run on our banks as well as cause our own stock market and economy to crash.
Have a Plan in place. Be Prepared with what you will do and how you will take care of yourself. Train on all the procedure that will help protect you and your family.

No, we are NOT saying the sky is falling, what we are saying is be prepared."

I don't believe in coincidences until they're proved to actually be a coincidence.

I think being prepared is good advice anyway, but especially since Obola is "in charge". I'm just saying...

Gosh, it took an article in a UK paper to bring out this incredible stoppage of a "supposedly" free press behind ropes by Hillary, a democrat.

Service Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... a real service cat. Yes, they're real.

New Florida Law Punishes Fake Service Animals

It's now against the law in Florida to pretend your pet is a service pet.

I never really thought about this problem until we were eating at the Village Inn when a guy walked in with a Doberman. Being owners of a Doberman ourselves, we wondered why this man picked a Doberman for a service dog since they're not the smartest dogs... well, at least ours isn't.

This dog was well behaved until he PEED ON THE FLOOR!

Real service dogs don't do that.

Happy Friday, everybody. Have a safe and happy Fourth of July.

Throw Back Thursday

Below is the largest Southern toad [Bufo terrestris] specimen that I have captured in my yard.

We get these very large toads this time of the year. They leave their poop all over the carport.

Not there yet, but the GOP and some Republican SCOTUS nominees are going to drive me to apathy if they don't shape up.
