AIR CONDITIONING Is A ‘Big, Sexist Plot,’ Washington Post Investigation Reveals

Oh Margaret.

Seriously?

I thought this article was from The Onion.

There's a saying in the South... "You can't take off enough clothes to get cool."

If you're cold in the office, bring a sweater to work.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. Well perhaps not the stupidest, but pretty close. Try wearing a suit too, I did for years and it worked just fine in those locker rooms. Who cares? It's way better than sweating to death. Get your big girl panties on and woman up.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

Lol. The stupid list just keeps getting longer and longer, doesn't it?

It's very simple biology. When a woman gets cold, her body autimatically shunts blood to the torso, to protect and keep her insides warm just in case she is pregnant. When a man gets cold, his body shunts the blood to the extremeties. Thus men do tend to get warm much faster than women, and take longer to feel cold. Yes, the men will need the A/C turned to a lower temp than the women will like or they will get too warm. Yes, the women can bring sweaters or suit jackets if they are cold.

In fact, i carry a jacket with me anywhere and everywhere, even in summer, because i know as soon as i step into a building with good A/C, i will be too cold. No, i don't complain about it, i understand not everyone gets cold as easily as i do.

Messymimi: Don't befuddle the left with a logical argument. It's like trying to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of time and it annoys the pig ;)

It's always too cold for me when I encounter A/C. Even at home because my husband likes the thermostat waaay down in the summer. I don't complain, but I do put on more clothing. When he complains about that, I tell him it's too cold for revealing outfits and you can't have it both ways. The thermostat goes up after that. That's one battle I always win.

The situation reverses in the winter. He and our daughters want the thermostat waaaay up so they can walk around the house in shorts and I'm constantly jacking it down. I tell them to dress appropriately for winter and they won't be cold.

Just another injustice for women victims to whine about.

I am never far from a toasty sweater, winter or summer, whether at the workplace, shopping or in someone's car. Have these women never heard of jackets and sweaterw?

Cube - I'm afraid I'm one who doesn't like too much air conditioning. I am cold-blooded and don't like places that are too cold. If it's very hot outside then I am happy with it. It is better for me than to be too cold inside.

Jan: I know. I'm tired of being awash in 'victims' when there is no real victimization and those outraged when no slight is intended.

Sue Hanes: I'm the first one who's cold in A/C. When Mr. Cube leaves the house I hit the thermostat. We are as thermally incompatible as any other couple on the planet. I just don't think A/C is a big sexist plot.

Zheng junxai5: Thanks for coming by. Just the other day I was saying to myself, "Gosh, I wonder when zheng will drop by with his crap list for me to deride. Thanks again, zheng, for wasting my time and bandwidth.
