As someone who's been perpetually busy for the last year or two (to the point of having to blow dust off my own blogs whenever I get back to them), I say to you: HURRY BACK!!! You can do it, Cube!
:)
Give the puppy a bellyrub for me...would love to see a photo....
8675309: Real life does seem to interfere with blogging, doesn't it. I hate to through some crap together just to have a post. I will get back into the groove once I get a little more time.
I will post photos of Maxine (not my choice of name, BTW) soon. She's a cutie.
Today I'll post a picture of our new addition to the family - we're training a pup ourselves and I remember from the first one it took around six weeks.
Steve Harkonnen: This little dobie was 4 months old when we adopted her. She was very spoiled and not potty trained at all.
She's a very sweet dog, very loving, but she hasn't been easy to train because we've had to undo many bad habits. Then again we've only had her less than 2 weeks.
Training our 8 week old German shepherd was way easier. No bad habits to break.
I hate taxes. I may have out-procrastinated you this year. Perhaps this weekend...
You got a new puppy? AW! I want pics!!!
Good luck with the potty training. I hate that part of dog ownership.
I always cheat and get an adult 1+ year dog from a rescue or pound. By then, the family or facility staff have already got the dog on an outside schedule, and they've figured out that it's a bad idea to soil the pen.
Brooke: It's comforting to know that I'm the only procrastinator when it comes to taxes.
Pics will be up soon. As far as potty training, yeah that sucks. You have to get them either really young or 1+, otherwise you have to break bad habits.
This dog is 4 months old and was crated all day because her owner just didn't have time. Once the owner got home, the dog was allowed to jump all over her and the furniture, there was little to no potty training, and very little exercise. We are working to undo all of that.

Teresa: Thank you. I procrastinate this chore because I hate to do it.
As far as the pup, she's a 4 month old Doberman who thinks she's a lap dog. Yikes.

Both activities involve dealing with a lot of crap.

I'm with Jan, dealing with the IRS and teaching a puppy to crap on paper have a certain symmetry.

Birdwoman: Puppies do rock, but they are a handful, especially this new one. We usually get them younger and have an easier time during training.
Chuck: Oh yeah. Dueling crapfests.
