Stinko De Mayo

This article made my blood boil...

Stinko De Mayo

Americans should never again be punished for proudly wearing the stars and stripes.

Never.

Saw this earlier and it pissed me off. This principle needs to be out on his ass IMHO.

I posted this on my site in the comments, check it out

when I heard about this I really really really hoped it didn't happen in California. But...

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Every single non-Mexican student at the school should have shown up the next day wrapped in American flags.

Where's the ACLU on this one?!

Chuck: The principal and the assistant principal need to be axed for this. Cinco de Mayo isn't even a big deal in Mexico, I don't see why we're made it such a big deal here. Sheesh.

Jan: When I first heard about it,
my guess was somewhere in the southwest where the immigration problem is most volatile. But the location is not as important as the issue.

Can you imagine an educator sending a kid home to change because they wore red, white,&blue on St. Patrick's Day?
I sure can't.

devil's advocate, from the side of the school:

If there had been school violence brought on because these kids wore the flag clothes to tick off other kids (and I haven't heard whether they wore these clothes at other times, or just on this day), the school administrators would be at fault. And everyone would be saying, what did you do to stop these kids from inciting riot? You know that would be the cry. It always is. Heck, I'm getting grief because I didn't write enough slips on kids who skipped school and went and beat up some folks off school property. Never mind they didn't skip my class, there had to be something that I should have seen and written up...

Besides which - what ever happened to flag shorts and t'shirts being flag desecration?
