Is liberalism a mental disorder?

Yes.

Oh, was the question rhetorical?

Absolutely liberalism is a mental disorder, just as Savage says!

Jan: We see living proof every day of the havoc this "philosophy" has wreaked economically and upon our societal mores. BTW 'wreaked' is
pronounced 'reeked' and not 'wrecked' as Obama pronounces it. Too bad he doesn't have a firm grasp of the English language. Haavard is so overrated.

Is liberalism a mental disorder?

That's really a tough question. Is it something a person develops, maybe from an incident sort of like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? Is it something with a genetic component? There are developing theories that some disorders could have genetic causes.

This of course takes us into the nature v nurture argument.

Is it nature that makes someone liberal? If so one would have to liken it to more of a developmental disability.

Is it nurture? That would make it a learned behavior. In other words parents make their children liberals (crazy). Maybe we need to look at this from a child protection standpoint.

We need more research on this subject ;)

Brooke: Good gravy! For some time I have thought Savage to be a character delving into the extreme fringe, but in this case, I think he may have a point.

Chuck: heh heh. It's an ongoing project...

Excellent post! Yes, liberalism is indeed a mental disorder. Both Savage and Peter Kreeft both come to the conclusion that liberalism is a mental disorder.
