When I heard this sad news I was so shocked because she had to have been in excellent health to be chosen to travel to space. Good health like that doesn't generally go away. Then I heard the cause. Damn cancer anyway. I loved Sally Ride's name. Partly because of the song ("Ride Sally ride!") and partly because it was just a great name for someone shooting off into space. But I also had a deep respect for how hard it must have been to break into the old boy's world of space and science!

Very sad news. What I liked most about her is that she never played on her celebrity.
lovely, smart, dignified woman.
May she rest in peace...past the stars she traveled to!
(boy, that's corny...oh well!)
Cube, I HOPE you get DON'T MESS WITH TRAVIS by Bob Smiley. I swear, YOU WILL LAUGH SO MUCH! xxx
Too young. Cancer is cruel to all.
What a sad story! And too young!
She was so young! But looked at all she accomplished.
RIP, Ms. Ride.
Z - I don't think that is corny.
Thanks - Z for this dignified post that Sally Ride deserved.
I don't know where 'JOS' came from.
That comment is from Sue Hanes.
Wow! I'm really messed up.
I meant to say the dignified post that you wrote was good - Cube.
But Z's post about S. Ride was good too.
