King Cobra Found!

The eight foot long King Cobra that went missing in Orlando, Florida in September has been found.

'We Are So Relieved': Missing King Cobra Snake Found Under Dryer Near Orlando

HISSSSSS

And I complain about giant flying roaches around the washer/dryer in my garage.

That is definitely an "only in Florida" story. And a story to keep people away.

whoa. If I found this thing under my clothes dryer, I won't say exactly what my bodily reaction would be because I'm a gentleman. I will say the washer would be getting another load, stat.

Jan: I get it. Florida isn't for the feint of heart. Our youngest got a bite last Friday and it's been crazy ever since. A walk in clinic visit, two ER visits @ Shand's Hospital, and a visit at a Springhill walk in clinic later and we're still worried about the bite. They think it's a spider bite, but unless you see the spider actually biting you, there's no way to know for sure. Spiders can be really sneaky.

I'm entertaining the thought of leaving Florida... I'm quoting Frank Zappa now... "Moving to Montana soon, gonna be a dental floss tycoon."

DaBlade: Lol. I can certainly identify with that. I had one of those huge flying roaches fly into a washer that I was filling with clothes. I swear I almost lost my mind. My husband of 33 years is great in a bug crisis, but I think I would have to deal with the snakes cause he's not a fan of them. I love snakes, I just don't like the poisonous ones.

Spiders almost never bite people, either, except for a black widow or brown recluse, and those you would know. They get blamed often for unusual problems that look like bites but don't quite act that way, but remember that spiders' mouths are usually too small to bite us, except the two mentioned. (Of course, i'm talking Gulf Coast area now, some other parts of the world have much worse spiders.)

In fact, when i first started having trouble with my fingers, years ago, a spider bite was blamed, but i had just become sensitive to cold and was turning out to be allergic to an antibiotic.

Anyway, i'm glad they found the cobra, those are not snakes to play with, like #2 Son used to play with the water snakes at the creek.

Messymimi: You're absolutely right about spiders. All spiders are venemous, but not all of their venom is dangerous. I don't know what bit my daughter, but it's been pretty nasty. I have read that unless you have a picture of the spider that bit you, there's no way to figure out what happened. So we worry.

I heard about this earlier. What is wrong with people. Don't answer that because I already know.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

Messymimi - What about the Funnel spider. Now there is one I'm even afraid of.

Cobra? Well better than a black mamba.

Sandee: A good question without a good answer.

Kid: Funnel spiders are nasty, too. I would put cobras and black mambas in the same category... AVOID.
