Yes, it would be most disconcerting which is why I love the ocean, but prefer to swim in a pool. At least I can see what's in the water.
BTW I thought of you when I was recently asked what I would name my boat and I said "a bigger."
LL: mmmmmmm I turned my back for a minute and Kinky came back. Sorry.
Yes, we do have lots of gators here in Florida. My husband was standing on a golf course and happened to look down and there was a three foot gator right by his shoe. He inched away safely, by that I mean my husband. Gators are everywhere... including my youngest daughter who attends the University of Florida.
Messymimi: I saw a news story about a woman in Florida who has a pet gator and city officials are trying to take it away from her. The footage showed her kissing it because she loved it as her pet. I guess it's OK until they get too big... or too hungry.

That would be most disconcerting. It really would.
Have a terrific day and weekend. ☺
There seems to be a gator in every puddle or pool of water in FL. Be careful. The chlorine is likely to tick them off.

Do you ever get to the point of thinking of them as cute and annoying instead of terrifying and deadly?
Jan: Yes, I do. I love them and they love me ;)
Some friends of ours have a pond with two gators. They've asked to have the reptiles relocated before they get too big.
