Happy St. Maewyn Succat Day

What? Oh, sorry. You know him as St. Patrick. He was little Maewyn Succat at home in Scotland with his parents, Calpornius and Conchessa. Dad was a Roman diplomat, and Mom was a niece of St. Martin of Tours, a Hungarian who grew up in Italy but mostly lived in France. Then Maewyn got grabbed by pirates and sold to the Irish. It’s a familiar story, not unlike many of our own family histories.

BUT did he wear green?

LL: [Wow, you're up early] I don't about the green, some people like red.

"Early" is subjective as to where I am in the world at the moment/which time zone...

Grabbed by pirates? But the good folks at Disney led me to believe that pirates were social justice warriors who would never do such things. They are "fixing" the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride to prove it.

All of us have slaves and kings in our history. Enjoy your weekend!

I don't particularly celebrate this holiday, but enjoy watching the parades and listening to the bagpipes -- the latter only if the piper is good. There's nothing much uglier than the pipes played poorly.

As we already KNOW the Mueller Investigation has –– and has had –– only ONE
objective in mind since it's trumped up inception by Super Rat James
Comey, and that is to "GET" Donald Trump at all costs by any means fair
or foul

LL: Touche.

DaBlade: Disney hasn't been the company Walt founded for a long time and even then it wasn't all that. Too sweet and frothy for this cynical kid.

Sandee: It's a mouthful, isn't it? I usually post drinking jokes, but I thought a little history would be a nice change.

Kid: Yes, I agree, I celebrate every day I'm above ground.

Messymimi: Yes, whether we know it or not, all of us have histories that abound in the good and the bad.

Always On Watch: I don't celebrate St Paddy's day either. Bagpipes, good or bad, make my eyes well up, maybe I just don't know the difference ;)

Dave: Although I appreciate your comment, this has to do with my post, HOW?
