or 9.9 miles (16.0 km) E of Clearwater Beach, Pinellas County, FL, USA is my closest point of confluence. There is a confluence within 49 miles (79 km) of you if you're on the surface of Earth.
The goal of the
Degree Confluence Project is to visit each of the latitude and longitude integer degree intersections in the world, and to take pictures at each location.
There are still 10,915 to be found, so don't worry if you can't find the one near you yet.

That's interesting! It looks like they've got Colorado pretty well covered.
Nice! Good luck with that, you should be done by 2011010101. :)
jen: Yes they do. After my own point of confluence, the one I found most interesting was the center of Europe (15.4 miles N or Vilius, Lithuania).
mamageek: If it weren't for the
'2' in the primary digit position, I'd think you were pulling a binary joke on us ;-)
geeks.
o.t. - my clawed mewnet trip to the vet post is up if you want to have a gander...
Sounds like a job for... Mathematicians!

Romney has stepped aside now.
I am sad.
Huckabee will hang on by the skin of his teeth come hell or high water. It's the AR way.
I am also sad that Thompson never got any traction.
We are stuck with McCain now.
I am sad.
I am very sad.
Uhhhh....WHUT?
My closest is 28 N and 81 W...

Fun!
nanc: Yeah, I heard he was suspending his campaign... whatever that means.
j.d.: It is what it is. I only hope McCain picks a good VP and we win in November.
beckeye: A confluence is just the point where longitude & latitude meet.
tmw: That's approximately 98 miles from me.
3 hrs., a mere stroll in the park!
Actually, I'm east of that point, but that is cool how these folks are doing this.
