Child Speak
BO is going to address the children of America on September 9, 2009 on the subject of education.
Obama's Classroom Campaign: No Junior Lobbyist Left Behind
Yeah, how convenient that BO gets a captive audience that can't argue back. This is unprecedented in this country, although it is routinely done in communist countries.
HERE is the actual text of the missive sent from atop to principals across the nation.
I found this line to be particularly offensive:
"Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?"
I don't know about you, but this blatant attempt at the political indoctrination of our children gives me the creeps.

I say to ALL politicians, regardless of party...
KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OUR KIDS AND KEEP YOUR INDOCTRINATING IDEAS OUT OF THEIR MINDS!!!
:-)
Believe it or not, I am used to stuff like this in school. How's that for scary?
Stop indoctrinating them with information. This whole learning thing must stop. Soon young people might start taking an interest in government or in school in general. And that's just unthinkable.
Jaime Dawn: Hear hear.
Ananda Girl: It's scary.
CrazyBunnyLady: I'm all for education. Reading, writing, math, science, history, you know the typical non-political indoctrination subjects.
I'm not so sure you'd be this charitable if it had been Bush who imperiously decided to speak to the children of America en masse.
It's pretty interesting how us bloggers always think in the same mindset, huh?
I think this whole thing is a farce. Besides, imagine what this will do to school networks that can barely stay afloat on what little bandwidth they have - without having to listen to Obama's mindspeak crap.
Say, isn't schools supposed to be for social studies, english, math and science?
Here's another example of the left's political indoctrination of elementary school children
Parents Upset Over 'Leftist Propaganda' Video
Some of the more outrageous pledges include: "I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama,"
"I pledge allegiance to the funk, to the united funk of funkadelica," and pledges to not use plastic grocery bags and not flush the toilet after urinating.
How's that working for you CrazyBunnyLady?
Just paying homage to our Dear Leader. Have to get 'em young, before their old enough to think for themselves.
Skip Day! Unles you want your kids chantinting Yes We Can!
unles and chantinting? Maybe I skipped school too often.
Chuck: I hate to sound conspiracy-minded, but it does sound more like a school system in Havana or Pyongyang than one in America. No doubt the left will try to spin this as innocuously as possible. How can you be against education?
Yeah, right. I'm not buying what BO is selling.
DaBlade: Skip Day sounds good to me for the younger kids. In fact, I predict a big "swine flu" outbreak on Tuesday.
I think the older kids should go to class. If they don't have good critical thinking skills, now is a good time for them to start honing them.
I plan to discuss it with my child in the same way we discussed the forced viewing of algore's crapfest movie and the entire day of BO's inaugural day festivites (even during a test!).
This is Hitler Youth shit right here!
I'm going to find out if my kid will be subjected to the Fatherland session on Tuesday, and if so, she might come down with a case of the 24 hour swine flu!
I've said it elsewhere, and I will say it here. I don't agree with equating Obama with Hitler.
Even though I probably disagree with at least 93% of his policies.
Brooke: I would love to see this propaganda ploy blow up in BO's face. I don't think enough school districts are canceling it to really make a difference.
You've got little ones so I can't disagree with you if you see fit to pull them out of it. If mine were little, they'd stay home too.
My daughter is in high school. She's got a head on her shoulders and good critical thinking skills. I do feel sorry for her (and many other poor kids throughout America) having to sit there and listen to the Droning One, somthing I don't have the patience to do myself.
When will BO figure out that he'll help his approval numbers if he just shuts up!
dmarks: I agree with you in so far as we shouldn't compare someone to Hitler until there is someone who committed more horrific deeds than Hitler... OK, except for Stalin, who killed millions except he didn't got about it as systematically and efficiently.
I think people are making parallels to the methods that
Hitler used to consolidate his power base. No one should wield that much power. Especially in a democratic republic that has always prided itself in having checks and balances in place to prevent such consolidation of power in one individual.
