Cubular News

Cube 63 , an interestingly named sushi restuarant in New York's Lower East Side got some unwelcome publicity in the news several nights ago...

**WARNING** For true crime fans. Not for the squeamish.

Go here if you dare.

What a piece of work.

It is said that there is no such thing as 'bad' publicity.

Mmmmmm...Sushi!

Ouch. But I bet the place sees a 10% increase in customers

Jan: That is a common aphorism that holds more truth in these jaded times than it did in the past. I'm sure their clientele will not diminish as a result of this vicious murder in the vecinity.

Patrick Carroll: Yes, delightful stuff.

Jay Noel: Maybe even more than that although I don't know they'll accommodate the extras when the building is so small.

I had to run out and attend sensitivity training after reading this. I immediately thought it was a Muslim. I am so ashamed.

Maybe Obama will buy a huge dinner there, have a night on the town with his wifey. He's so generous.

That is horrible, but why didn't anyone call 911 sooner? They all claim they heard her and waited for her to answer them? Kinda stupid if you ask me. I'd of just called - it might have saved that poor womans life had they called sooner.

*HEH* some quiet block I say!

Another piece of sheise-- as they say in the south, he needs killin."

Chuck: lol. I'll be sitting next to you at the sensitivity training classes because my first guess wasn't moslem but the next best guess.

Jay Noel: I think they have their sights on something more high brow. This place has 7 tables but not because it's exclusive. They're just small.

Layla Elizabeth Gonzalez: Good point. Honestly, why wait? I would've called right away, but I don't live in that urban environment where they hear fights all the time either. Maybe they get tired of calling all the time.

Neat restaurant.

Terrible about the young woman! Gawd help me, I am with Chuck! ;)

I think it is safe to say that Chuck is the reason for every bad thing in our country since he was born. IMO, he needs far more than sensitivity training, and as a staunch conservative, I cannot help but suggest that he should pay all of us with Diminished Sensitivity Disorder a lot of money.

And she lived with a man who had the capacity to CUT HER HEAD OFF. Keep living with men you don't know well, ladies; real good idea.
Hard to believe the neighbors didn't know where the screams were coming from; You hear the noise, you know where women live and bang on ALL the doors in hopes you find the one, no?

And why didn't the cops cover her on a guerney instead of saying 'Don't look'!? Holy COW

Karen Howes: Killin' and more if you ask me. He's lucky I'm not going to be the warden at the prison in which he'll spend his years.

Mustang, I'm confused. Your a conservative and I'm getting in touch with my inner racism, shouldn't you be giving me all of your money?

cube said...

Brooke: I can understand Chuck's first impulse, but my first thought was more along the lines of OJ.

Mustang: I don't know about all the stuff you said about Chuck, but I do agree that he should pay us all money ;-)

Z: It's not all that uncommon. Case in point: Nicole Simpson.

You're spot on about the cops not covering the body. What is up with that?

Chuck: I don't know about all that stuff you said about Mustang, but I do agree that he should pay us all money ;-)

How sad and horrifying! I wonder whether the publicity will help or hurt their business?

The people in the building heard this woman screaming for 20 minutes and no one came to her aid?! After the first scream someone should have called 911 and not waited a second longer.

This is absolutely tragic.

You could be correct Cube, but I do not care. I live in a rather rural area but once in awhile the kids get rough and there are "beat downs." I hate that - it just galls me to see and hear kids behaving this way. I don't care, I call the cops so that they will not kill who they are beating down. Last summer a kid died a mile away because no one would call the cops. People are afraid of retaliation no matter where they live, but I believe in what goes around comes around. It could be me and I would want someone to call the cops ASAP when they could hear me screaming for help. I still say they should not have waited, maybe that girl would still be alive, maybe now, but now we just do not know because they waited. Gosh.....

Correction for Cube: "You could be correct Cube, but I do not care."

I did not mean that you are correct and that I do not care that you are or are not, what I meant was that I do not care about the fact that they live in an urban area where they are used to it. Sorry for the wording. Also in the last sentence (lol, wow! i am on a roll here, yah think?) anyhoo.....the first now should be not! Thanks. me
