U Speak

From Big Hollywood, Greg Gutfeld makes a case for Snookie as a commencement speaker at Rugers University:

Universites Could Do Worse Than Have Snookie As A Guest And Have

I agree with Gutfeld that Snookie is better than the regular group of leftist/progressive/socialist/commies that are invited to speak, but my point is that I wish we could do better.

Why are conservative voices so few and far between at universities?

This is a problem that needs to be addressed.

I think that is so sadly true! But then I began as a liberal and did not become a mature conservative thinker until after college and experience in the real world.
Still, I can't imagine how Snookie could inspire anyone to reach lofty goals.

I was once on a committee to select speakers for university events. The criteria was how much the speakers agreed in ideology with most of the members of the committee.

As usual, those of us who mentioned free speech and divergent opinions were ignored.

Why are conservative voices so few and far between at universities? ..because they don't want rationality or morality hun~!

Ananda Girl: I would like to see more conservative voices in our universities but it's hard to break through the liberal blockade. Contrary to popular thinking, I think the jackboot fits those on the left more snugly.

Jan: I hear you. There is evidence of this nationwide. I think we need to end this monopoly of our kids' brains.

WomanHonorThyself: I know that the liberals eschew rationality and morality, but we must make them realize that we won't send our children to their schools unless they do. No doubt, we have our work cut out for us, but we are in a death spiral if we don't.

I think a society that holds this chick in such high esteem is almost certainly doomed anyways so speak away as far as I'm concerned.

what's a SNOOKIE? I swear I'd never heard of her before this.
What could she possibly have to say to students?

Conservatives would be booed off the stage, that's why they're not there. DOn't forget, you can't have something like 92% of college pros avowing liberalism and think they'll allow conservatism to rear what they think is its ugly head on those kids who've they've taken great care to thoroughly brainwash!

by the way, why does Greg Gutfeld feel he has to tell us who Bob Schieffer is? !

Here’s a scary thought: what if, judging from everyone else, Snookie is the most conservative choice at Rutgers? My sense is that this is the direction our country is heading …

fear not. Big university days are numbered. They are not self sustaining. University of Phoenix is the future. Now if we can only get the bias out of textbooks... (you know, I had a history class in college that had Zinn's "a people's history" as a text. Nice.)

I just don't know what to say. I see stuff like this and shake my head!

If I had a kid at Rutgers I would have exploded!

Chuck: I can't imagine why anyone would watch Snookie's idiotic show, but I can't blame her for accepting a huge fee for speaking at an event. This speaks volumes about the venue, i.e., Rutgers, that would have her as a speaker.

Z: Don't even bother finding out who Snookie is. Believe me, it isn't worth it.

I know that conservatives would be booed, pied in the face, and, in general, have feces flung at them if they dared speak at a university. That situation needs to be changed.

Z: Greg Gutfeld can be a bit of a comedian at times. A little of him goes a long way.

Dan: I'm so glad you survived the commenting process. BTW you are the first person to EVER comment about that so you earn 100 virtual brownie points for your effort.

Glad you liked the blog :-)

Sam Huntington: I'm afraid your observation may be more true than not. Sad state of affairs, eh?

birdwoman: Zinn? And yet you still turned out OK ;-)

Brooke: I hear you. My girls went to Catholic private schools all their lives and you can't believe the liberal crap they endured. It's endemic. The culture is saturated with it and, if you object, you're an intolerant, religious fanatic, racist, sexist homophobe.

I came across it one night and flipped it on. I only had it on for minutes and actually felt my IQ plummeting as I was sitting there.

Chuck: I've only seen clips on news shows and that was too much for me. I prefer watching the reality shows that showcase cooking and not misbehavior.

Conservative students are "trampled" by professors. The power of the grade book is a death grip, especially at the present tuition prices.
