Postcard To White House

GOP To Obama: Wish You Were Here

The Republican National Committee has set up a site at www.obamagetaway.com where visitors can choose a snarky postcard with a message criticizing the president’s island escape and e-mail it to the White House.

I sent one...

I wished Obama happy job hunting come November 2012.

I get an error 404 on the link.

I keep thinking that somewhere in the White House is a responsible, intelligent adult who might start advising BO on basic public relations.

The bus tour was a joke

My fault Jan. I got a little over generous with the cut & paste. It's working now. Thanks for letting me know.

I'm gonna have to send one to the WH, trying to think of a quippy message. BO acted like such a child-man on the bus tour. What a waste of tax dollars!

Jan: What good is a responsible person advising someone who is an arrogant narcissist who doesn't listen to anything but the voices in his head.

Teresa: I agree. Wasting our tax dollars is one thing Obama does right. This bus tour was a bust for us, but it turned out to be a bust for him too.

Jan, Good point on the public relations. I have thought the same thing but the reality is - they don't care. Part of it is narcissism, part of it is knowing they have the media on their side.

How do you think the Canadian bus thing was reported in the MSM? Would it have been reported if Bush had done it?

Cube - Just a couple of weeks ago I sent something to the president.

Not a postcard, but a letter of support.

The reason being that while George W. Bush was in office I griped about him for eight years. I don't think I EVER cut him any slack.

And worse, I don't remember ever even saying a prayer for him - that might help him out - just because he was the president.

Of course, it's too late to change that. But I thought as long as Obama is the president, maybe he could use a kind word.

So that's what I did.

sue,

I gotta tell you something... my dad had been praying for Obama since he entered Office so that he would have a change of heart but my dad just recently said to me he doesn't think Obama has a heart so there isn't much use in praying for him anymore.

Teresa - I know things are seriously bad in our country.

But I don't think that is how prayer works. If you are going to pray for someone - I wouldn't think that God appreciates negativity to be associated with such an important part of his plan.

Sue: If you honestly hoped for the best for our country, why DIDN't you pray for President Bush?

I don't know about you, but when 9/11 happened, I felt GWB had a handle on the worst crisis our country had seen since Pearl Harbor and he managed to give our country a measure of comfort and got us out of trouble. Look at the economic stats.

Meanwhile, Obama has done nothing but promote super-regulatory, anti-business legislation to aid the unions and idiotic "green" industries to the exclusion of the public sector. Then he whines about the lack of results and blames it on republicans and everyone else. Maybe it was his "typically white" grandmother's fault... certainly not his.

I WILL give you this, Obama needs more prayer on his side than George Bush ever did.

Sorry, I was never convinced by this charlatan and I can't believe anyone believes his act anymore.

Teresa: I'm glad your dad found his way towards the truth. I have a great uncle, very old and a life-long democrat, who vows to vote for Obama a second time if he lives long enough. What can I say?

Cube,

My dad is a lifetime democrat but hasn't voted for a democrat in years. Not sure why he doesn't switch parties. He's prayed but hasn't seen any results with Obama. In fact Obama has gotten worse not better.

I honestly believe that the public tide is turning against Obama, primarily because of his it's-my-turn-now attitude.

That postcard site is great, Cube!

Absolutely brilliant, Cube! I'm off to send one of my own!

Cube - Why didn't I pray for Bush?

Inherent stupidity, perhaps, and because I finally woke up. Not that I have changed my mind about how I felt about Bush, but because now I see how senselss it was for me to make these continual negative remarks about any man who holds the highest and hardest job in the world.

A job - in my opinion - that has become two much for ANY one man.

And right now I believe more than ever that a one time six year term is the only way. Reelection is distracting the president enough to do further harm to our country.

There is a stigma attachted to a 'one term' president, but more than that, the party wants to keep control.

I think the sooner the days of the two term presidency are over - the better.

Always On Watch: I hope that you're right. Obama's tide needs to recede back into the sea and never be seen again.

Thank you for the link :-)

Brooke: I'm glad you liked it. Was was your snarky message?

Sue: I don't mean to offend, really I value your opinion, but perhaps the truth here lies in the fact that we elected the wrong man for the job as president. I don't think it has anything to do with the length of the presidency. It has to do with the character of the president.

The GOP was yelling that Obama wasn't qualified (and/or not upholding the values that many Americans hold dear) to run a lemonade stand, but not enough people listened.

I hope the 2012 electorate isn't as easily fooled by an empty suit and I mean that on either side of the political spectrum. I want this country to thrive.

Cube - Thanks, but I am way past being offended. I have been commenting on Conservative blogs long enough to have developed a 'thick skin.' :-)

My belief about a six year term goes beyond the current mess our country is in. I have felt this way for a long time now.

And I am convinced that this is the way to go - no matter who holds the office.

At August 19, 2011 3:36 PM, Blogger cube said...

Sue: First, I'm glad you're not offended.

Second, my thinking is that this country can't withstand four years of a bad president much less six.

I don't like the idea of being locked in for more than four years unless or until the president is voted into a second term by the populace.

At August 19, 2011 9:38 PM, Blogger sue said...

But Cube - Although we are still mopping up the mess, we DID survive eight years of George W. Bush, didn't we.

Think how much better off we would be if he had been limited to just six years.

Hey, at least you have a job, right?
