Trekkie vs. Trekker?

The debate continues...

Trekkie Or Trekker Vote T-Shirt

I became a Trekkie on September 8, 1966, however, I don't get offended by being called a Trekker either. For me, it's all Trek... it's all good.

I do think the shirt is over priced and I won't buy it.

cube - Although I am not one of you my vote goes for trekkie.

I loved the 2009 Star Trek movie and I like the William Shatner commercials.

And that is the extent of it.

Sue Hanes: Thanks for your vote.

I, too, liked the 2009 Trek movie, but it wasn't like the love I have for the old Trek.

I'm glad for the reboot of the franchise, but only because it will incite interest in the old Trek.

I love the Shatman... did you know he was my first crush? Later, when I became wiser, I liked Spock the best.

I totally offended a friend once by calling him a trekkie. He coldly told me he was a trekker.

I think trekker must be for the uptight and anal trekkies.

Jen: Uptight and anal Trek fans? How could that possibly be? ;-)

cube - This is how dumb I am:

When you mentioned Shatman, I had to google it. I've never heard him called that.

But whenever that commercial comes on I watch it, cause he is great. Especially when he is dressed up like the devil.

I've been a fan since the beginning. Sigh. There I go dating myself. It doesn't matter to me if I am called either.
The Shatman amuses me greatly! His singing is the worst though.

Z: When you do decide to watch an episode, ask a Trekkie who knows your likes & dislikes to guide you towards a good episode because although there is much that is good, they're not all gems. Some of the episodes are unforgettable and definitely worth watching by even non-Trek fans. Just don't pick "Spock's Brain."

Sue Hanes: We hang in totally different worlds, don't we, yet by the wonder of the internet we can exchange views. I love that about the internet, don't you? :-)

BTW RE: the Shatman: My first crush can do no wrong ;-)

silly rabbit: I've dated myself as well, so welcome to the club. I watched the first espisode with my dad. He loved it as much as I did and we were hooked for the rest of it.

As far as the Shatman goes, there's not much I can't forgive from my first crush.
