This young man is a true inspiration and I love how he is unashamed of his faith.

He is the kind of role model I want my children to look up to.

Ditto on what Leticia said! We were busy, so I missed the game. Wish I could have seen it.

Leticia: I'm so proud of this kid. He's definitely one of own that watching keenly.

Silly Rabbit: You missed a good one. I watched the entire game and was delightfully shocked at the end. What an ending!

Cube - God Bless Tim Tebow - and especially for his great Fatih -
which he displays so inappropriately on the Football Field.

Someone needs to tell Tim that a Football Field is for playing
Football.

I didn't watch the game - Cube - did he do his really stupid
Tebow thing - before or after?
(not that there's anything wrong with it.)

You should be proud of him and I am really tired of all the petty sniping at him.

I've watched his amazing feats through his college years. Definitely a role model in every sense.

I watched the whole game, by the way.

I'm with everyone else here in that he is a great role model, something that is way overdue in pro sports.

As to his skills, I think he's good but a little over-hyped.

Awesome!

Go, Broncs, and GO TEBOW!!!

I hope he wins the Super Bowl and all those idiot leftists that have been attacking him have to eat crow.

Sue Hanes: I'm not one of those people who disapprove of joyful displays by athletes who have accomplished feats that the rest of us only dream of doing from our Lazy Boy recliners. If they want to pray, if they want to leap, if they want to dance hip hop moves, I'm OK with it all.

I can't believe how intolerant you are being about this. Would you be intolerant about a moslem proclaiming his faith?

cube said...

Jan: I'm proud of this Florida kid, too. He's been on my radar for a long time. I've never followed the Broncos until now.

And the game was worth watching... especially the end.

Chuck: Tebow is a lightning rod for the media. Would the outcome have been different if Roethisberger hadn't had the ankle injury? I don't know, but it's a fair point to make.

WomanHonorThyself: Me too.

Brooke: Since my Bucs went into the toilet, I find myself rooting for the Broncos for the first time ever.

Cube - Since you asked:

I am a Christian.

I think that football players should stick to playing football and not do stupid things like profess their Faith in Jesus Christ on the football field.

I mean JESUS...himself would probably rather watch the game and not have to conduct Business during what He most likely considers a time when He should just be able to kick back and relax.

To me - Tim Tebow is a:

Traditional Idiot Football Player

not a rally

Since my Bengals exploded in TX last Saturday, I am now rooting for the Broncs, too.

Sue Hanes: I asked? I don't recall asking if you were a Christian, but I do recall asking if you'd be as intolerant of a display of moslem faith on the football field. That's the point I'm trying to make and that's for you to answer.

Personally, I like to keep my faith private, but I'm not disturbed by others showing it at times when they have accomplished great feats. It just doesn't bother me.

BTW I don't think Jesus would waste His time watching a football game when He already knew what the outcome would be. Would you? ;-)

cube said...

Brooke: I watched that game too. Ouch for your Bengals.

My Bucs haven't fared well either. The head coach and his entire staff was fired. We don't know what to expect next season.

I'm watching football vicariously through other teams now... as you are.

Cube - First - I would have to see what kind of display a Muslim would exhibit on a football field.
But I would not understand why any person would display any Faith on a Football Field.

And the reason for that is:

Football Fields are for Playing Football.

Now occasionally we do display Patriotism on the Football Field - in a Big Way - but I'm not Touching that one.
~~~
And as for whether Jesus watches Football - I haven't a clue.
Personally I hope when Jesus does kick back and relax that He goes to Classical Piano Concerts or an Art Museum.
Maybe he likes to attend live perfomances of the Handel's Messiah around Christmas and Easter.
And maybe He gets a kick out of when people stand up for the Hallalujah Chorus - or better yet when a Flash Mob performs it 'spontaneously' at a Mall - which I find to be so amazing and great.
Yeah, this kid is going places and God definitely has his back.
He is a great role model for kids. As a Steeler fan as much as I was disappointed by the Steeler's loss I was happy for Tim Tebow. I hope he had continued success.
Cube - Did you really read that Chuck Palahniuk novel?
Cause the cover alone freaks me out?
:]
Jay Noel said...
Obviously sue hanes has never watched an entire football game. And I will just assume she's NEVER played full on, full pad/helmet football before.
#1 - it's a brutal sport. And when someone is injured and medical staff rush the field, you will see tons of players from both teams praying
#2 - football players have been pointing upwards or doing other religious hand gestures on the field for DECADES. Athletes in all sports do it as well. Albert Pujols points upwards after a homerun, boxers make a sign of the cross before a bout, etc.
#3 - immediately AFTER an NFL game, you will see a large group of players huddle up and join hands in prayer. They've been doing this for over 10 years at least.
- I think it's funny that someone who has never played the dangerous sport of football has an opinion about what should and shouldn't take place on it. I apologize ahead of time if I have assumed incorrectly there. But I'm just going to go with the odds.
But I'm willing to bet you are a Bill Maher fan. Only a fan of that piece of shite could spew such hatred for a guy that doesn't show his underwear with low riding pants, doesn't beat his wife, go to jail, have 13 kids with 10 different women, or hold dog fighting rings and kill innocent doggies.
dmarks said...
"But I'm willing to bet you are a Bill Maher fan."
Bill Maher claims that handicapped children don't deeerve to be treated like human beings, should be treated like animals. I bet he'd be the first demanding they be euthanized.
Not surprising. In Maher's religious faith, human life has no value.
Jay Noel and dmarks:
If either of you are really interested in discussing with me:
football and/or Bill Maher
come to my comments and conversation blog and raise any point you wish - and I will discuss those topics and any other in detail - and in Sincere Truth and Honesty.
but let's not bicker on cube's really cool blog
Leticia: I can only say I wish him all the best. I will be watching that game between the Broncos & the Patriots without fail.
cube said...
Teresa: You're a good sport.
Sue Hanes: Yes I did and, let me tell you, the cover was the least freakish part of that novel.
It was one of those novels that, once I began reading, I just had to read to the end.
sue hanes said...
Cube - I not only have to avoid novels that freak me out - but movies too.
I really like movies that freak me out but it's later - at night - mostly - and especially when I'm alone that these freakin' movies that are freaky - well come back at me.
And they freakin' scare me. : [
