Oh My Word!

Yes, I have a North Korean nuclear missile in my head!

This is from Friday's post-op dental pic. My husband thought I should share.

Bwahahahahahaha. Your husband is almost as funny as you are.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

Implant, well that looks like fun. It's better than some dental appliance in the long run.

Jan: My husband says he love you. Not really, I made up that part ;)

Sandee: I do love a sense of humor in a man.

Well, i'm glad it's done and hope you are not hurting any more.

Kid: It's a chapter I want closed in my life.

Kid said...

Consider it closed. I Hope !

Messymimi: Yes, I'm glad it's over and done. Once my husband brought me home, I fell right to sleep. At 4 PM I woke up in a panic thinking I had overslept my appointment, but I soon realized that wasn't the case. I fell back to sleep and woke up around 7 and started to lock up the house for nightfall. My husband asked me what I was doing... it was 7 AM. Whatever the doctor gave me, it worked.

Yikes.

TSA is going to have fun with YOU.

Really? OMG. Does that screw stay in or will it be replaced? I had not idea.

Haha, just when Kid has you convinced the chapter is hopefully closed, Ed reminds us of airport security. Time for a booster shot :)

The Happy Whisk: My sentiments exactly.

Ed Bonderenka: My mother-in-law and I were just talking about that because she has a foreign body in her knee from knee replacement surgery. I guess we'll find out the hard way.

Granny Annie: Although it's in the healing phase right now, it will become permanent once the bone graft grows around the screw. Once it heals, it will become a permanent part of my jaw and a tooth that look like my old tooth will become attached to it.

DaBlade: I thought the surgery would be the worst part, but actually not being able to bite down on food has been extremely hard. Delicious food everywhere, and I'm subsisting on soft stuff. Ugh.

You and Ed may be right about the TSA. They don't take kindly to people walking through security with a North Korean missile up in their face.

Cube, don't give it a thought. I've got a bunch of metal in my left leg and never had a problem.

cube said...

Kid: Thanks for that info. My mother-in-law and I have both been wondering about it.

cube said...

Kid: Left leg metal? Who? What? When? Where? and Why? If you don't want the entire world to know the details, you may email me at entropy22@verizon.net. I promise I won't tell everyone else in the world.

Ah, no problem Cube.

When I was 16 I took my brothers 250 cc Harley (Italian Aermacchi actually) for a joy ride. After all I charged the battery for him and cleaned the spark plug..

I drove it to this dirt surface alley nearby where there was a big rut and if you got the bike up to 40 you caould get a nice jump out of it. This time though there was a sideways across the alley being cleaned with nowhere to go left or right, so when I came back down from the jump all I had time to do was lay it over but my left leg was underneath as the bike hopped up and down skidding to a stop next to the car.

AS a result, my lower left leg was shattered in 2 places, broken in 3 more and the ankle was broken in 2 places. So, I’ve got pins, wire and some screws that are still there. Hasn’t created any problems. The weather doesn’t affect it or anything like that.

As an aside, without that leg damage I'd have been drafted and sent to Vietnam when I was 19.

..a car sideways across the alley ...

Kid: Oh my word. I'm glad you don't have any residual pain after all that damage. It sounded pretty grim.

Two months in the hospital in a full leg cast, 4 more months on crutches in the winter walking to school up and down very steep hills. That was fun :) No school buses back in my olden days.

Kid: That sounds like hell on earth.

Kid said...

I was young - took it in stride.

I think that you're a cyborg now.

Kid: Yes, youth does have it's perks.

LL: I prefer the term "bionic" ;)
