Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... our cat Butterball who is wise enough to know that roses don't last forever and that you must sniff them while you can.

Happy Friday, everybody!

Very sweet but my cat would watch the vase drop to the floor

Sandee: These were my Mother's Day flowers. Butter just couldn't stay away from them. I don't know if it was just him, but one of the cats knocked over the roses three times. What would CSI think over this photo of Butterball's implication in the case.

Sweet little face.

Jan: That vase was knocked over three times. I don't which of the three cats did it, but I see one very complicit suspect in this picture. He couldn't stay away from them.

At least your cat has sense enough to stop and smell the roses. Sometimes i get so busy that i dont!

The Happy Wisk: Don't let that happy little face fool you. There is much mischief behind that happy little face.

Kathe W.: So would Butterball. He's very capable of doing the very same thing. We can't forensically ID him as the culprit, but we have good evidence.

Kid: He's got a cute face, but there's evil cat mischief behind it. Nonetheless, we still love him dearly and forgive all his catly deeds.

Messymimi: That notion became very real to us right before my Dad died. It made us all wish we had had more conversations with him before he passed. Smell the roses while you can.

What a great picture! print & frame that.

Snaggle ToothL A sweet face, yes, but capable of much mischief.

Granny Annie: Actually, he's the dumbest cat we've ever had. On the other hand, he's very photogenic. He's a digital era cat.

DaBlade: I put the last rose in the bunch in a 500 ml borosilicate flask and the cats still knocked it over... but at least it didn't spill.

DaBlade: He's a very photogenic cat. He's like a Kardashian. Most cats run from a camera, but he shines in it. It's his element.

This year, our kitty Amber has discovered our bouquets of peonies. She sniffs them -- then tries to eat them. Cats!

At night, when we can't monitor Amber, I must put the vases in a closed cupboard.

Torties are stubborn.

Always On Watch: My cats knocked my Mother's Day vase over three times. Do you think they're drawn by the smell? We certainly are. We just don't knock the vase over when we admire the scent. I took the final rose and put it into a 500 ml borosilicate flask and, sure enough, they knocked it over, but thanks to scientific engineering, it didn't spill.

Cube,
I've noticed that some cats are attracted to red. Not all cats, though. Our beloved Cameo (RIP) adored red and made a point of sitting on or pawing at anything red. Amber behaves much the same. But Mysti? Nope. Maybe it's because she's so old now. But, honestly, she seemed to have no color preference when she was young.

I'm sure that Amber was loving the fragrance of our bouquets of peonies -- especially when the flowers were fresh. Once they started to lose their fragrance and the petals wilted, she wasn't interested in them as much.
