Myopic Diversity

Bestselling Author Fired For Mocking Publisher’s Diversity Policy

FTA: Publishing giant Penguin Random House has announced that its authors are no longer to be chosen on literary merit but according to a politically correct quota system “taking into account ethnicity, gender, sexuality, social mobility and disability”.

Yes, you read it correctly, no longer will new books be chosen on literary merit. No writing skills required, just diversity.

Author Lionel Shriver (pictured above) was fired as a literary judge because she brought up the farcicality of this position.

Gird your loins, people, because that kind of foolishness will be ramping up here in the U.S.A.

It may be ramping up, but it will die at some point. It's always the bottom line with these folks. They are taking the bottom line away with this nonsense.

Have a fabulous day. ♥

Give the losers an inch, which obama did every day for 8 years, and these vermin will not be going back into the box quietly.

Sorry, folks, i still only plan to read those books that are of literary merit. And if i have to buy self-published ebooks to get them, so be it.

Publishing houses are all either broke or going broke.

The Purple Penguins over at Random House are no longer needed. Probably a relief getting out from under the albatross contract.

I read a lot but sadly I won't be discovering new writers if this is the policy
