This kitty out of Dobson, N.C., is believed to be the only cat in the world with two tongues. The cat, named Five Toes, was born with two tongues and five toes on each paw. Owner Bill Whittington said Ripley's Believe It Or Not will feature Five Toes in its 2006 guide.
I don't think Five Toes is the first name that would occur to me if I discovered my cat had two tongues. Lickity, Scratchy... Freaky!

That's awesome. There's a polydactyl(extra thumbed) cat that comes around here for food, but I've never heard of a cat with two tongues. Very cool.
that seems like the kind of pet my mom would have. shes had some odd ones1 braille born with no eyes. boozer, neglected to the point that the ear mites ate thru her inner ear adn destroyed her equalibrium! some with missing limbs, some with extra toes. but i wonder if the extra tongue causes problems with eatting... or is it just forked and is one tongue at some point....

The polydactly paws aren't so strange, in fact, New England is full of polydactly cats. It's the forked tongue, which is the real anomaly here. It looks forked, but up & down forked versus left to right. The anomalous tongue doesn't seem to affect Forky's life. He must be great at lapping up floor spills.

My sister has a long-haired black cat with a number of extra toes. His name is Digit. When an exact look-alike stray cat showed up a few years ago, we started calling him "Double Digit."

Darn, I wish I had two tongues! Sure would come in handy when speaking out of both sides of my mouth!
