Wahhhh!

The Democratic party response to President Bush's comments yesterday at CNN article entitled Bush: Democrats wrong on Iraq :

A resounding chorus of whines and cries for a push for a new direction in Iraq...

...sounds like cut and run to me.

Sounds to me like throwing money down a rat hole. I'm afraid we are in a no win situation. There is no answer that can please everyone.

The Dems have been less and less relevant since the second world war. At this point, they're simply the best-known fringe group in the US. They haven't got any choice other than to scream and cry about everything that anyone does since they've removed themselves from any real role in America's future.

The only thing we learned from 1992 to 2000 is that when the economy is strong enough, our country can temporarily coast, even with a brain-dead hoochie-obsessed baby boomer in the White House. Because of Clinton's neglect and mismanagement, there are too many serious issues going on now for Democrats to be taken seriously anymore... so all that's left for them to do is scream from the bottom of their idea-void. The '90's are over. I can't see the US ever voting another Dem into the White House for at least the next 30 years. The Dems must realize that, and boy are they steamed. So, for now, "Whaaaah!" is all we'll hear out of them... either until their party seriously reforms or until capitalism finally kills off radical Islam, the same way it killed off communism. Since the Dems will not likely reform in my lifetime, my bet is that we won't see another Dem president until we're at a point where we can afford the luxury of another four-year experiment.

Guess now its a cut, run and whine eh?

I hate politics, but it's no secret that liberals love to whine. Almost to the extent that I can't trust half of what the news says about Bush. Sure, he's probably dicked up, but come on, they blame everything on him. :P

They're really just a bunch of turncoats. They want to turn the US into another Socialist Canada.

Many Dems, not all, don't have the will to stand firm and fight to win. Bush most certainly has made mistakes conducting the war, but I sure admire his steadfast leadership in taking action against our enemies. Whining accomplishes nothing, and many Dems are proficient in that.
My major beef with Bush is that we don't see him out there enough during prime time talking to Americans about what we are facing and making the case for fighting terrorists abroad and at home. He needs to be seen and heard, front and center often.

well, if nothing else works...the waterworks usually do the trick :)

Americans should be standing united right now, but we are not. There are too many citizens who are preoccupied with their entertainment and not with the threats that surround us.

I'm afraid that it will take another attack on the US to steel the resolve of some Americans who don't want to acknowledge that we are fighting a global war on terror.

That is a sorry thing indeed.

..."sounds like cut and run to me".

...which is exactly what we should have done long ago!

"I'm afraid that it will take another attack on the US to steel the resolve of some Americans who don't want to acknowledge that we are fighting a global war on terror"...

... which had NOTHING TO DO WITH IRAQ initially but bushie boy has now created the terrorists in Iraq!!

Better to fight the terrorists in Iraq than on the streets of New York and LA. Many of the "Iraqi insurgents" are foreign nationals from Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc.

Since we aren't fighting a country, Bush had two options: 1) Select the military epicenter of the region and kill it, or 2) select the religious epicenter of the region and kill it. Considering nuking Mecca wasn't on the table, he had to opt for the first. The terrorists are now running to Iraq and getting killed. Al Quaida has been devistated. Bin Laden is now an ineffective leader, isolated. Plus we haven't had an attack in almost 5 years.

When the Iraqi government and army is strong enough to keep the country secure, our job will be done and we will leave. To cut and run now will leave the country in chaos, and all those people who died liberating it will have died for nothing.

unseen one: absolutely, anybody with 2 neurons to rub together can see this. I worry about those who refuse to face the facts.

Once the Shia-dominant Iraqi democracy takes hold, just imagine how the young (also Shia) Iranians next door are going to feel about freedom.
