I have yet to hear an explanation by any thinking woman about how they can abide, let alone encourage, the demeaning crap put out in the name of Rap.

One defense was "It's just music" which I totally dismiss as absurd.

The White House is no longer a thing of pride. The Obama's have turned it into a "Party House." And nothing is off limits, apparently.

I am appalled of how the Obama's have misused this stately and once honorable home.

And for the record, rap is not music.

I have yet to hear such an explanation for encouraging rap from a thinking woman, but then again I don't put Michelle in that category.

BTW the rapper in question is a member of Rev. Wright's Trinity church. That speaks volumes to me.

Followed the link, and found that the poet in question misspelled the word "nigger." Which I find highly offensive.

How sad that none of us are shocked by this “new wave” misogynist behavior in “the People’s House.” I suppose neither of those two buffoons regard their tenure as a special (temporary) trust. I assume they’ll do as they wish and “g-damn America” and its entire people. After all, this is their “due” …

I am thoroughly disgusted … this is not a matter of inclusion; it is repugnant.

Sam - NO, this is absolutely friggin brilliant! It brings to light a pervasive thought process in US society; that bitches be ho's and cops be gets shot at. That Dadses be spermy dones and dats dat.

This is the NORM in a huge segment of the pop. It needs to be discussed and addressed. Is this the Obama's intent? doubtful. but this is a societal cancer that can't be ignored. We can't just turn our noses up at it, it needs to be faced head on.

Joe makes an excellent point, but I have no confidence that we can have that discussion. If we attempt to address these things, we become vile racists —even if we are black. It is not Obama’s purpose to uplift America by extolling its virtues, nor unify us. Obama said he will fundamentally change our nation, and he will do exactly that. He and Michelle will abuse our culture. They will demean our values. They will do everything possible to debase our civilized humanity.

We have lost forever the uplifting, considerate, sophisticated entertainment we came to expect from Ronald Reagan—a genuinely funny man, woefully replaced by Clinton’s seedy sexcapades and the ghetto filth perpetuated by Barack and Michelle Obama. If Joe is correct and this kind of behavior has become the norm, then we may not be able to save our country. Indeed, it may not be worth saving. There is one consistent message among conservative pundits: the future favors the communist left. I am glad I am getting old …

I have said since he was elected that no one is allowed to be surprised about what he has done to America. All one had to do was listen to him during the campaign to know what he was about.

This bit with Michelle is neither surprising nor isolated. They are both racist. They spent twenty years sitting in a church listening to a racist, America-hating pastor. (right next to this racist poet, as it turns out).

As I said, nothing here we didn't already know.

The only difference is you're pointing it out, as you should. Half of the country is pretending that all is well.

I read this at IOTWblog yesterday and could not believe my eyes... And then I realized it was the Obamas and could do nothing more than shake my head at this most recent disgrace.

Mustang - I say screw that. call me whatever u like. the proof is in the pudding. But I think you and chuck give Obama far too much credit. This way of thinking has existed since long before he entered politics. It's fair to say that this is certainly an issue that he has yet to address, but I also think that it isn't constructive to point to this behavior and say "See! It's Obama's fault."

Let's see, they invite a rather eclectic group of people to one of those Whit House events that are common across administrations.

Okay, this wasn't Jackie Kennedy inviting Pablo Casals but let's be objective. Common is a pretty mild rapper and doesn't do gangsta at all. Since most of you are from the "I listen to anything except rap" school of music appreciation (or is it the school of code formation) you have no idea what he sings about. Hint: He's not violent.

Now, if you want gangsta you can go back to Poppy Bush inviting Eazy-E to the White House, not sure of the reason. "Straight Out of Compton" your kind of rap, mustang?

Someone in the not too distant pass also invited Ice Cube, I believe. So all this faux indignation just reminds us that either:

1. The far right is really unaware of pop culture.
2. Mustang, Leticia and Sam Huntington must be down with George H. W. and his homes Dr. Dre.

You folks really need to get out more.

Just goes to show that these people aren't fit to scrub the floors of the White House, much less occupy it.

So? There's no one on the far right commenting here. or anywhere near.

Nothing but conservatives in the mainstream; no extremists or "Far" anything involved.

From the article:

The 39-year old Grammy winning rapper/actor has been a member of the Obamas' Trinity United Church of Christ for most of his life.

Hmmmmm....Perhaps BHO has not severed his ties with that church after all.

Listen to his lyrics my friends and you'd see he's against all the crap you accuse him of. And no he doesn't belong to Wright's church.

Stop being so gullible and turn off Fox News.
