I can't help but say diving is a dangerous sport. Like mountain climbing or parasailing, etc, you have to assume a lot of risk no matter how careful and experienced you think you are.
Messymimi: The nuclear plant says the intake pipe was clearly labelled. I don't want to impugn the diver's integrity, but if I'm a diver and I see any kind of intake valve, not to mention one NEXT TO A NUCLEAR PLANT, I'm going to flap my flippers as fast as I can in the opposite direction. I hope he learned his lesson.
Granny Annie: Some people like to live on the edge. Me, I like to live on the edge... of the couch ;) I'm kidding. I've pulled some boneheaded stunts in my misspent youth, but, you're right, you must assume the risk of your activity.
