Felix 1999 - 2016

We had to put down our beloved Felix yesterday. We had him since he was eight weeks old and miss him already.

It's been a rough month for us and our pets.

There's always an emptiness when that happens.

Now I understand your comment on my blog this morning. I'm so very sorry. I know this pain and am still feeling it horribly after our loss six months ago.

Big healing hugs my friend. Hug healing hugs. ♥♥♥

LL: And a little piece of the emptiness never leaves.

Sandee: Thank you for your kind words. I know you understand. We were all grieving Maxine's sudden death on 3/17 and now we lose Felix, too. It's a lot to process.

Jan: Thank you for that. It does help to know that Felix lived a good, long life, and his passing was as easy as the vet could make it.

Please accept my sympathy. No matter how long we have our pets, it's never long enough.

Messymimi: Thank you. You're so right, it's never long enough. It just breaks my heart how short their lives are.

Granny Annie: Thank you. Felix did live a long, good life. He was a good cat and I made sure her heard that during his passing.

So Sorry Cube. He's a beauty and I'll bet a real personality.

awww Mimi- I am so sorry! He looks like he was a wonderful pal!

Kid: Thanks. He was a beautiful cat that would bat his big yellow-green eyes at you slowly. We called them his 'glamour eyes' and my brother-in-law used to call him a "fancy boy" because of it.

Felix loved us, but never liked visitors. My dad once asked me if I really had a black cat because he'd never seen him. Felix loved food more than anything in the world and it was that one thing that drove our decision to have him put down. If he couldn't enjoy food anymore, then his quality of life was an awful one for him.

Yes, he was a real personality.

I think all cats are different and each one is special and we were lucky to have Felix for as long as we did.
