Messymimi: Brilliant! You could've saved Pavlov's early experiments. BTW our cats have added the sound of an EZ open flip top can opening to their repertoire. All it took was a recent batch of EZ open tuna cans and now they react to it the same as the can opener whirring. Smart cookies.
ever scratched just above a cat's tail? And seen it suddenly start madly licking its chest? Works every time...I call that a kind of Pavlovian response! Works with dogs, too, but I don't remember the details!

Heeheehee! Maybe instead of a bell, he should have used a can opener. That thing whirring sends my cats into orbit!
No wonder the successful experiment went to the dogs:-)
I laughed out loud at that one...so true. Poor Pavlov

I know nothing about this cat. Nothing.
Have a fabulous Friday. ☺
Granny Annie: Oh, that's punny :)
Sandee: It's a little known failure kept under wraps by the scientific community... until now, that is ;)
Jan: Poor Pavlov indeed. His earliest experiments with flatworms were failures, as well. I read he was a real ding-a-ling ;)

Z: Maybe, but I'd bet on that being more of a reflex, such as elevator butt, rather than a conditioned response.
BTW I got this t-shirt for Christmas. It's gotten a few chuckles.
