Sandee: Every CPA I've ever known felt a great sense of relief when the tax deadline was over. The rest of the year is much less hectic. Then it starts all over again.

Well, i'm not the CPA, and i wish i could crash like that, too, after getting our stuff filed. Phew!

Messymimi: I know the crash feeling way back to my college days when tests, especially midterms and finals, were over. Utter relief. Tax time used to be bad for me, too, but now I let our CPA worry about it. He's got the stress now.

That cat looks just like one of our back deck strays that moved into the house - Stanley.

Kid: It's funny to know that you name your stray cats too. Back at our old house, we had a stray tom who had a very distinctive meow... wobet. It sounded so much like the word 'Robert' that we named him Robert. He'd come into our yard all the time and our feisty alpha female cat would chase him away. We felt sorry for Robert. He seemed like a very nice cat, but Baldy felt otherwise.

The strays are odd. Stanley is pretty gamey as he doesn't like to be touched, afraid of picked captured I guess. he lets me pet him when he has his face in a bowl of food though. The other stray - KitKat loves for me to pet her when I go out there, but has no interest in coming in the house, even in winter. Though she has a custom built insulated box with heating pad for those days and nights. Stan hasn't been out for a week now and the weather is nice during this spring when a young cat man's fancy turns to..

Kid: I feel sorry for the poor strays. People have to be responsible with their pets and have them spayed and neutered. My daughter has a cat who has a notch on his ear from being picked up, neutered, and then released. Unlike most feral cats, he's super sweet and sort of pushed his way into her apartment and her heart. Butter saw his furever home and went for it.

Cube, Great story. There are tons of strays here. Way too many. They actually cut off about 1/4 inch of the tip of the ear here if you're taking him to one of the places where they do free spay/neuter for strays. If we have Stanley fixed, I'll pay for it. All of our cats came originally our orphan kitten fostering days, you probably know that already. Man I love the ones we have left, such strong unique personalities.

Great story about Butter.

Well a guy a couple thousand feet away has an old junk looking house and always has 10 or more strays living outside his house. He's too lazy to have them fixed so it's a never ending cycle. Maybe our current strays came from there. Anyway, they seem to do Ok outside and through the winter. He does put a box on his front porch with a heating pad in it for winter, but I think God gave them what they need to survive in the wild.

Yea, I prefer to pamper them though too.

Kid: The tale of Butter isn't anywhere near over. After my daughter moved back home a year ago with kitten Butter, he's basically grown up at our house and Butter is very sweet and loves everyone, even strangers. Now my daughter is talking about getting a new place of her own and wants to take Butter with her. My husband wants to keep Butter because he's a cat that he's formed a bond with.

Just as a backstory, my husband craves cat love, but often times they're afraid of his big, noisy self, so a cat like Butter, a California surfer dude-like cat who is accepting of him, is not something he wants to give up.

Therein lies the upcoming showdown.

Oops. Good luck with that one. All I can offer is that one of them breaks another cat our of a shelter. If they can't decide, any cat can be a true soul mate and treasure, but by my personal experience if one is having trouble deciding, I offer that I've fond the black, black and white, black, brown and white as being a lot of fun and having really rich personalities.

PS - Grey cats are very laid back, and orange cats are potentially mentally deranged. Calico's are tempremental. Generally speaking. You probably know all this.

Kid: I'm no cat expert. I just have a reputation as a cat charmer because cats, even strange ones, always seem to like me. You're right about our Calico being temperamental. She likes only my daughter and me, running away from my husband in terror when all he fervently wants to do is pet her.

As to the showdown between daughter and hubby over Butter, I'm going to stay out of it.
