French Fries

President Jacques Chirac diddles while France burns. He vows stern punishment one minute, and a dialog of mutual respect the next. "Don't make me come over there!" Chirac warns the "disenchanted youths" on the 11th day of riots that have spread over 300 towns.

The Chicago Boyz blog does a fine job of questioning the validity of "the European social model of multiculturalism, socialist management of the economy, relaxed attitude towards work, high taxes, lavish benefits, antipathy to Christianity, and pacifism".
It's definitely worth a read.

When will they realize that we are waging a global war against Islamofascists and get on board with the U.S.? Ummm, don't hold your breath.

I'm not holding my breath, believe me.
Chirac has disdain for our president and for what we are fighting to achieve. He better get some of that "cowboy, kick butt" mentality if he's going to get control over the rioting.

Neither am I. Chirac and our homegrown lefties who worship the Socialist Utopia of Europe won't learn from this. They aren't capable of learning from the mistakes of the past. They're busy making up talking points that blame Bush for this "unrest".

But it IS Bush's fault. Don't you know that? Bush should have signed the Kyoto Treaty, then we would never have any more hurricanes or riots or acne or stub our toe in the middle of the night.

You scoff, but there really are people out there who will believe it. You know, OJ jurors, etc..
