Soul music veteran Isaac Hayes, the voice talent for 'Chef', announced Monday that he was leaving South Park citing its 'inappropriate ridicule' of religion. Oh, please. This has everything to do with South Park satirizing Scientology. Where was Hayes when every other faith under the sun is getting lampooned? At the bank cashing his checks.
Does Scientology make people looney or does it attract people who are looney in the first place?

I don't know that much about Scientology, but I can say that they need to get their image under control. It appears to cater to loonies, and put the final polish on their insanity. I can't remember the last time I heard something really good in conjunction with Scientology.
The answers are yes.
Mostly, the ones that are attracted are the "convenient ethics" type, who will do whatever they want, as long as Scientology is not maligned. Now, if it were a real religion, not some cockamammy story drummed up by an aging loony, it might be a different story. Real religions have some basis of steady ethics to work with...
With South Park, nothing is sacred. Everybody who has watched the show knows this.

Personally, I think it attracts people who are already a little loony and then scientology turns this looniness up a notch.

I like the whole "wall of fire" thing they've got going with the radioactive souls and such. Christianity has no such fun stuff going on.
