Dell Fire

Oh, the humanity!

The case of the exploding Dell laptop heats up here with Dell's announcement that it has captured the errant laptop and is trying to figure out what caused it to explode into flames.

The company said it was too early to draw any conclusions, but then drew the conclusion that it didn't appear to be related the the company's December 2005 battery recall due to overheating issues.

Dude, I'm so glad I didn't get a Dell...

You know, there are times that while I was giving a presentation that I wished my laptop would just burst into flames so that i could leave the room. ;-)

I am glad I don't own a Dell.

Have a great day!

We own two Dells. And, as soon as I get back from Wal-Mart, we'll also own two fire extinguishers.

In my archives, I've got a post somewhere about how much DELL STINKS now. They used to rock. Their customer service rivals that of AOL.

Still mine hasn't caught fire. yet.

Goodness! I can't imagine WHAT could be in that thing to make it explode like that... Not even the battery!

Yet another reason to have a Mac! :>D

I have a HP and am very happy with it. It never caught fire yet. I´d be so scared if that´d actually happen!
I bet the Dell company now HAS to believe that there is no such thing as bad publicity :)

Apple NoteBooks stain yellow after short term use, and Dell laptops explode.

Apple NoteBooks only burn your knees, they dont' catch fire. It's okay that they get so hot that they can burn people, because they are NOT "laptops", thus, were not designed to be placed in laps.

Mmmmmm. Isn't technology wonderful.

Dude, too bad it wasn't on the lap of the annoying Dell-dude at the time. I think him not being able to procreate because of fried equipment would be good for all of humanity.

Yes, Dell customer service really stinks....

trevorbereck: I hope you have a good lawyer.

anonymous: Dell used to pride themselves on their customer service, but they've dropped the proverbial ball in recent years.
