Real Quidditch

Earth-bound Quidditch is like the mongrel offspring of rugby, dodge ball and soccer, but somehow it has taken off on college campuses.

The first Intercollegiate Quidditch World Cup Fall Festival was held at Middlebury, Vermont with 12 seven-person coed Middlebury teams vying for the chance to play the visiting team from Vassar College.

They've been working on the rules for terrestrial Quidditch for years. Apparently it has caught on among the college set who has grown up reading the books.

I'd much rather have college kids doing this than some of the other less savory activities associated with this age group.
