This is my dog, Elke (yes, as in Elke Sommer) and she is a mind reader. I don't know how she does it, but she often manages to be right in the way of where I will be even before I know I will be there.
Amazing.
Take your mind off the stock market and share a silly pet trick...

My kids do the same thing!
And my cat.
Maybe I'm just too predictable.
BTW, Elke is a beauty! :)
I know what you mean, same with my Dog he's always laying where i need to go.
Beautiful Dog
mine worst, he will takes his ball and place infront of you when he knows that you are going out.
I have four dogs that read minds... in the same manner, at the same time, and with the same results.
They are teaching MEG this skill.
I have a cat thats a skilled mind reader as well.
Good thing furry mind readers tend to be so cute, isn't it?
Have a great day!
Truman knows the words "peanut butter."
I did NOT teach him those words. But if you say them, in whatever context, he does the ears-up and head-to-the-side "look how cute I am" thing.
Ridiculous.
That must be a dog thing. My cocker spaniel is always where I'm going.
BTW, the best dog I ever had was a german shepherd. Rosco.
OCDman
brooke: It's too uncanny for it to be anything other than
foreknowledge of the future.
All we did was feed the goofy-looking little pup. Go figure.
shover: It's uncanny, I tell you.
steven goh: Yeah, the old step on the ball and twist your ankle ploy.
cary: Four? Yikes! Are you aware that that qualifies you for the Crazy Dog Man category?
BTW Who is MEG? And why is her name capitalized?
angie: Yes, but cats are smaller and don't tend to become a huge barrier. There are times when I'm trying to get through the house and it seems like there is a dog dam everywhere I turn.
867-5309: We don't bother to spell out the word "walk" anymore. Elke knows that and she gets excited when we put on the walking shoes.
OCDman: I think so too. When we had the two shepherds it was virtually impossible to get around the house in a hurry.
We love German shepherds too. They're such a good breed. And we still find ourselves missing our beloved Dax who died in February 2007.
Magnificent GSD!!!
People (ones I don't care much for) laugh when I mention my dogs having ESP. But dogs are so in tune with people they love that they do read our body language before it gets to our brain. It may be because we are an easy food source, but still.
I can jump through a hoop!!!
My rabbits are also a mind readers. I don't know how they do it.
clawed mewnet fetches and mewna lisa will talk to me WHENEVER i say, "MOONAWEE?"
our little smoshie (chihuahua/pom mix) will go hunting whenever i holler "SQUIRREL!" and whenever we say "snack?" he jumps up onto the highest thing to beg and talk.
>^,.^< PKUIRKY!
jan: Coming from you, that is quite the compliment for our Elke.
I don't care what those people say, I know that my dog(s) have some foreknowledge because otherwise they wouldn't always BE IN THE WAY!!! I mean, what are the odds?
lola: Good for you. What a talented pup you are.
BTW you look very much like my sister's dog, i.e., my niece dog.
crazy bunny lady: I believe you. I'm sure it's not limited to cats and dogs.
nanc: They're all such individuals. Isn't it grand?
My dog, Little Jerry Seinfeld, knows when I'm in a bad mood and will walk around with his tail tucked even if I don't say a word. If I'm in a good mood, he'll hop all around me, again, no words said.
Dogs know.
Elke's beautiful, Cube!
I've always wanted a German Shepherd.
pinky: lol! Hearing that Little Jerry Seinfeld is your dog's name just made my day.
we'd love a German Shepherd, too..but haven't got around to it ... since our 2 wonderful 20 yr old cats have died, we should do it.
Ya....animals know. My boy cat (my soul mate cat!, marcello) used to come down the stairs and meow at me at 8:15 every single evening..on the dot. And would meow till I went upstairs to watch TV up there because Mr and Mrs Z's TV viewing choices are different!! 8:15..set your clock. How'd he DO that!?
Z: I hear ya. We've got numerous examples in our household of the very same stuff.
Four qualifies for crazy dog man? Because it used to be five.
Good thing I didn't mention the five cats that still live here...
The dog next door used to be able to tell the other dog to shut up - the little dog would be yapping and the big dog would turn around be able to stop it with one hearty "WOOF"
cary: Sorry to be the one who breaks it to you, but anything over 4 qualifies in the "crazy" category.
Your Logan retrospective brings to mind a similar experience we had with our with Dax in February 2008 We're still miss that good old dog.
These critters do leave their pawprints on our hearts.
miles mcc: I've heard of smaller dogs running the household more often than not, but I guess every situation is different.
you?
have a dog?
somehow, i pegged you for a cat person.
beautiful dog. :-)
What a beautiful dog. They are a wonderful breed, gentle, loyal, smart, courageous and heaps of fun.
Cool dog and that is pretty cool that she is where ever you are. We have 3 Siberian huskies and sometimes they do that and sometimes they don't It may not be cold in other places, people are lucky who are in shorts but it is sure cold here this morning. Its 15 degrees Fahrenheit!
: )
: )
Your neice must be very good looking and if anything like me, loves to give sloppy kisses...
lola: Yes, my dog niece Pumpkin is a cutie and she is very sweet too.
salubrina: One of the reasons why I opted to get a biology degree is my love of animals. I'm a sucker for all of them. Cats, dogs, snakes, amphibians, etc..
gecko: Yes, they are a wonderful breed. I've had many in my life.
Jaime Krause: Yikes! That is cold. As I write this, we are looking at 59 degrees F. Not too bad for November.
aaah...Shepherds! There's nothing quite like 'em.
The only problem is that Gecko and me get so damn deeply attached to them--and they don't live forever, worse luck.
KG: Alas, no guarantees can be made for any pet.
Wouldn't want to get caught between you and her. :)
She is a beauty! There is just something so majestic about a German Shepherd. They are so smart.
MK: She wouldn't do anything unless you were to act in a threatening manner.
balou: Oh yes. I love the breed.
