Zodiac Revealed?

OPORD Analytical Founder Unmasks ' Zodiac' Killer

True crime buffs and fans of cryptography will enjoy the report; a long but fascinating read...

The Zodiac Killer

Conclusion: Gareth Penn is the Zodiac Killer.

UPDATE: From the Wikipedia entry:

Gareth S. Penn (1941- ) is an American author and amateur detective. Penn was among the first non-experts to focus effort on the famous Zodiac Killer case. He published a credible theory about the killer's motives, publicly accused a noted UC Berkeley public policy professor of the crimes, and labeled himself a one-time suspect.

Did he do it?

Your guess is as good as mine.

I hate give a cold blooded killer any credit what-so-ever but one has to be impressed with his code taking 40+ years to break.

I know. It's a good thing the vast majority of criminals are blooming idiots. If the intellectually gifted decided to go into crime, we'd be screwed.

"If the intellectually gifted decided to go into crime"

The Clinton administration and its scandals did come to mind. He's supposed to be very smart. When he is thinking with the upper head, anyway.

If this were a movie or TV script, we wouldn't believe it.

i may print this out for my cabin reading later this week!

i used to love the old detective magazines from the sixties and you cannot imagine the criminals i've helped catch just being a lowly legal secretary.

dmarks: The Clinton admin. was very adept at fleecing the public but strived to stay within the bounds of the law.

Looks like Obama's Clinton-lite admin. is looking to do the same.

jan: Truth can be stranger than fiction. I like to read both.

nanc: I'm a true crime buff too. I'm reading this but on the computer. I don't know that it's worth printing yet.

Often above it (such as refusing to turn over documents required by subpoeona), but never outside it.

dmarks: Yes, it's a very fine line they draw.

Alan Cabal played pranks on Gareth Penn for potentially decades.

C.Lo: Cabal sounds like a real piece of work, but then, so does Penn.
