Beware of The BLOG...it creeps, it leaps, it glides & slides all over the place.
lee: I agree about the flag. Makes me so mad I could spit. And it's good to see a post here again. -lee
I've been to that part of Texas. This strikes as pretty strange, considering that it happened in a "Red State".
Lee: It makes me spitting mad too.I have been neglecting The BLOG lately. Too many family obligations. dmarks: I think there are gutless administrators who will cave at the slightest complaint. They're everywhere.
Doesn't it seem like some people are only happy when they find something that offends them? Unfortunately people cave when they complain.
I am flabberghasted! They couldn't even be understanding about her daughter serving in the military? Or her pride in her husband and sons? What sort of people are these? Well, I'm darned offended by their behavior!
cube - I missed The Blog too. I'm glad you put family first. With her family serving in the military and since it was Memorial Day, I think the supervisor was a bit hasty about taking the flag down.
Jan: Good point. I'm beginning to be offended at all these people taking offense
I thought about posting on this today. I have no words though. I am with you, I'm offended by people being offended with every little thing too.
Ananda girl: Exactly. I'm offended by their offensive behavior. This is OUR country. If you are offended by OUR flag, then go away. Period.
Sue: I appreciate your sentiment. I really do. I'm glad you understand about family time. I totally agree with you that these administrators should've used a little more discretion when dealing with a woman whose family has served this country in spades. How has the African supervisor served this country lately, and if he hasn't, why the heck does he get a voice over this woman?
The whole "it was too big" exucse is just that: a lame excuse to cover their disgraceful behinds. If there are companies in this country that are too big to fail, there are no flags that are too big to come down...
How outrageous!!!I am without words. That said, most of the "in the trenches" workers at hospitals are conservative, while the admins are flaming idiot America-hating leftards. I've been there, I know.
3x5? Yeah, that sounds HUGE.I don't have a problem with separation of church and state...but now we're separating state and state?
That is odd. I've worked in several hospitals in Texas. They all fly the American flag as well as the Texas flag. WTF?
great find but awful!
But what are we DOING ABOUT THIS STUFF? This is INSANE! We are such freakin' DOORMATS now to every ONE PERSON's complaint. In any other country, they'd laugh the complainer out of the bldg."The flag outside is enough for her?" BITE ME (oops, sorry, but....this REALLY riles you up, doesn't it?)
This alone would give me an excuse to cut the complainer's tires.
...O'er the cubicles we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? And the bosses' red glare, the vitriol bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the lunch hour that our flag was still there... Old Glory has defeated much bigger foes than this yahoo
Chuck: It's an absurd situation in when one offended immigrant can bring about a change such as this. Dr. John: I concur.Brooke: Don't forget lily-livered, spineless, and un-American. BeckEye: Good point. Jill: I'd like to read the follow up stories in the local papers just to see how this turns out.WomanHonorThyself: It has to stop.Z: Absolutely, it riles me up. This obvious lack of respect for your host country was unheard of with past immigrants. Those immigrants came here & honored the flag. This can't be allowed to stand. Steve Harkonnen: And you would go to jail for hate crimes.DaBlade: Very clever :-)
Can you believe that crap? I saw that the other day and I was mightily offended at that person's offense...
