The Audacity Of Taupe

Oval Office Rug Gets History Wrong

They misattributed a quote to Martin Luther King and now it's immortalized on the rug????

For the love of God, can they do anything right?

It's sad when you can't get the flooring right

Actually the quotation on the rug is correct. The longer quote originates from Theodore Parker but the shortened version (the quote on the rug) is attributed correctly to Martin Luther King Jr.

HERE is something else about the redesigned Oval Office -- and from a Dem:

One of the unintended results of the redecoration of the Oval Office was the downsizing of Barack Obama. In last week's prime-time address to the nation, the president sat behind a massive and capaciously empty desk, looking somehow smaller than he ever has...

[...]

The president needs someone to look into the camera so that, when the light goes on and he says, "Good evening," he looks commander in chiefish: big....the way things are going, the American people are going to fire him.

Chuck: heh heh. I hear ya.

Teresa: If I were to shorten Lincoln's Gettysburg address and use it in my blog, it still shouldn't be attributed to me.

"Ten score and nine years ago our foreparents brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Freedom, and dedicated to the notion that all people are created equal."

The phrase "immortalized on the rug" takes me back to the Clinton days.

Always On Watch: Nothing is going to make BO look like a commmander-in-chief. If he hadn't been built up by the servile liberal press, he never would have won the election.

Anonymous: More like "immortalized on the blue dress."
