Actress Jane Wyatt, best remembered as Margaret Anderson, the mother on the
television series "Father Knows Best," died Friday in her sleep of natural causes at age 96.
As a Trek fan, I'll always remember her as Amanda, wife of Sarek, and mother of Spock. Coincidentally, Mark Lenard, who played Sarek, died on November 22, 1996, almost ten years ago to the day.

Did they reprise their roles in the movies too? I can't remember which one it was, maybe Star Trek III when Spock was reborn?
They did reprise the roles in the movies. Amanda in STIV: Voyage Home (she helped Spock reeducate himself following his fal-tor-pan refusion).
Sarek in STIII, STIV, and STVI.
I never really "got" what she saw in Sarek... Is it just me?

Of course, if he only goes through Pan-far once every seven years, she must get kind of bored in the interim...
