Kerry Syndrome
Army Private Scott Thomas Beauchamp, the discredited “Baghdad Diarist” for the discredited New Republic magazine, is the latest fabricator of anti-U.S. Military propaganda willingly (and almost lovingly) accepted as true by the MSM.
Michelle Malkin does an excellent job of collating the recent crop of liars a la John Effing Kerry in Winter Soldier Syndrome .
That Beauchamp is married to a reporter working for the New Republic wasn't publicized by the magazine, but was discovered by real journalists at the Weekly Standard.
Cozy, huh?

The media has been playing us for chumps for years.
Yes, the anti-American propaganda has been going on for a long time. I remember Walter Cronkite gloating about how he ended the Vietnam War.
Lucky for us, we now have other avenues for dissemination of info beside the MSM. They don't have a tight lock on information like the old days.
That must just fry their grits! LOL!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

BTW-Is this twit or his conflict of interest wife related to ketchup kerry?
tmw: I don't know if there is any connection between the Beauchamps and John F(onda) Kerry except for being cut from the same prevaricating cloth when it comes to the Military.
If the Internet had been around during Kerry's day, his life would've turned out differently.
I've noticed the MSM takes ANY tidbit of disgruntled grumblings from military persons and splashes their opinions far and wide. I don't have a problem with their anti-war views being reported, but I'd sure like to see the MANY soldiers' opinions who serve our country proudly day after day and who are very rarely heard from.
The MSM sucks BIG TIME!!!
I don't mind people having anti-war opinions, but I DO get angry with those who clearly want for us to lose in Iraq and the greater war on terror worldwide. I just don't understand that mentality at all.
I read a bit about the "conflict of interest" problem, *cough*, but I'm not across the Beauchamp diary work.
Did he simply make things up Cube?
Caz-Apparently he has signed a documnt, and publically said it was mostly lies. Apparently there were some minor things based on actual events, but 99% were just LIES!
Have you noticed in that picture how "metro" he looks? I mean the way he is holding his head and mouth? swishy

j.d.: I agree. The job of a
journalists is to print the truth, not make up stories in order to drive their personal agenda.
caz: The investigations continue into just how much he made up, but one thing is clear. Beauchamp's thesis was basically about how war dehumanizes soldiers. It is now apparent that the incident of mocking the IED-disfigured woman happened in Kuwait BEFORE he even got to the war!!!!
You decide.
If you're interested, Charles Krauthammer makes this case much more eloquently in Stephen Glass Goes to War: Why did The New Republic run it?
tmw: Oh, you nailed it. If Beauchamp were a dog, he'd be one of those foo foo French poodles with the manicured nails and the hair shaped into pom poms at his feet, all topped with a little blue ribbon on his head.
