Happy Halloween
Hillary doesn't need a costume to scare me.
Just the thought of the USA having a president that can be melted with a glass of water is scary.
But today there is some good news. Hillary had a bad night at last night's Democrat debate...
Obama, Edwards Attack. Clinton Bombs
The details are juicy and make me want to go Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!
Happy Halloween!

Sox
Baby Giraffe Named In Honor Of Red Sox
Sox, also known as a Kilimanjaro Giraffe, is not to be confused with Socks (below), the cat dumped by the Clintons as soon as they left the White House.
No fealty, just use and then toss.
Off-Beat Office Supplies
One thing you don't know about me is that I have a strange affinity for office supplies. Pens, markers, Sharpies, Post It notes, colored pencils, pads, you name it, chances are I have a stash.
Today I found something I don't have...
A 'Living Dead Dolls' Sadie pencil sharpener. It's a doll's head and you stick the pencil into her eye to sharpen it. There is a little button on the back of her neck that pushes the shavings out of her mouth.
The Sadie eye sharpener may be a little dark for some people, maybe this is more your style...
Either way, it's yikes for you!

Pet Rescue Jacket
No, it's not a Halloween costume...
It's a rescue jacket and rain coat at a demonstration during the Security and Safety Trade Expo in Tokyo October 17, 2007. The rescue jacket for either a dog or cat contains an emergency kit and food, for use in a possible disaster.
I can hear that poor dog now...
"Take this $#%# thing off me. I'd rather die!"

Blogger Type
You Are a Pundit Blogger! |
Your blog is smart, insightful, and always a quality read. Truly appreciated by many, surpassed by only a few |
Have I mentioned how subjective these Internet tests can be? Only a hundred times...
Anyway, I found this one at The Fanciful Muse blog and I couldn't resist some silly fun.
Grave Matters
Nowadays everything is going green, even funerals.
GREEN FUNERALS: Putting Aside Embalming And Tombs.
The Promessa Foundation takes organic burial a step further...
The corpse is freeze-dried in liquid nitrogen, then vibrated until it breaks down into an organic powder, and then, in a vacuum chamber, the water is evaporated away.
The resulting dry powder is ready to be laid in a biodegradable (mulch able) coffin. In about 6-12 months time, the coffin and it's contents become compost.
Freeze-dried people make good mulch.
The end.

Monsterbust
I like October because of the plethora of horror movie marathons on TV. I like scary movies, the scarier the better. Creepy and eerie work too. I'll even put up with a gory movie, if it's scary.
Imagine my surprise when I watched "Blood of Dracula" in the wee hours last night on AMC's Monsterfest. This movie was most decidedly lame, not scary. I laughed at the ridiculous vampire character whose face actually turned bat-like.
I've decided to follow the example of blog buddy Etchen at
Today's ramblings and ask my readers for some suggestions for scary movies.
Have you seen any scary horror movies?
Rice Raid
If I had my way, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would go on the offensive after the near assault by a member of Code Pink...
Protestor Painted In 'Blood' Accosts Condoleezza Rice
First, I thought Condy showed remarkable constraint by not decking that woman, whose hands got extremely close to her face.
And secondly, I wonder how the Code Pink nuts get into the Capitol building time after time?

Lifetime Beer Supply
Brewery Offers Lifetime Supply Of Beer In Return For Stolen Laptop
Yes, my ears pricked up when I saw that headline ;-)
Apparently the Croucher Brewing Company in Rotorua, New Zealand, is offering a a 12-pack per month for life to the person who fingers the laptop thief.
One 12-pack a month sounds a little light, but I'll keep my eyes open.

ChiComs Heart Hillary
A recent Zogby poll results says:
Half Of Americans Would Never Vote for Hillary for President
Turns out Hillary has more support among the Communist Chinese who are funnelling money into her campaign via poor or non-existant Chinatown workers... Dishwashers For Clinton
If this doesn't scare you into voting for a Republican, I don't know what will.

Gas Mask Scare
Annie Lennox, my favorite singer, is in the news again...
Gas-masked Man Spooks Annie Lennox At Boulder Concert
I read this and thought about my blog buddies who have taken to wearing gas masks lately. You know who you are... ;-)
Apparently, LaLennoxa was in the middle of a song when she saw the caped, gas-mask wearing invader walking her way, and she threw down the mike and ran backstage.
Hasn't she ever seen Star Wars?
[The BLOG note: When I first posted the link, no registration was required to view the article. That has changed. You can read Annie's blog entry about the incident at AnnieLennox.com ]

Vandalism?
Would the NYPD consider the above piece of sidewalk chalk art as vandalism?
I lived in Manhattan as a child and I remember great times at the park on Riverside Drive. One day, I was writing Haiku with chalk on the park sidewalk and an elderly couple came by and praised my work.
That was the New York I remember. Sadly, it seems to have changed much since my childhood...

Rhodes Mugged
Air America radio personality, Randi Rhodes, was mugged on Sunday night while she was walking her dog Simon near her Manhattan apartment.
According to Air America Radio late night host Jon Elliott, Rhodes was beaten up pretty badly, losing several teeth and will probably be off the air for at least the rest of the week.
Then Elliott jumped to a biased conclusion:
"Is this an attempt by the right wing hate machine to silence one of our own," he asked. "Are we threatening them. Are they afraid that we're winning. Are they trying to silence intimidate us."
Gosh, I didn't get that Republican Hit Squad memo, did you?
Sheesh.
[The BLOG note: Before the liberal lurkers out there torch me for using the cover of Randi Rhodes "book", let me add that the "book" was never released because Rhodes suffered severe gastrointestinal distress in the process of compiling it.]

Shocking Game
From PerpetualKid.com comes...
The Shocking Autopsy Game
The object of the game is to remove the weapons from this poor soul. But operate with care -- one false move and you're in for a shock!
Yes, you read correctly. The game shocks the player!
This game is even more perverse than the game KaBoom! where players took turns hitting a pump which blew up a balloon. The one who burst the balloon lost. Playing KaBoom! was agony and, probably, responsible for my hatred of balloons to this day.
Can you imagine playing a game that actually delivers an electrical charge?

Artist Implants 'Third Ear' On His Own Arm
The Cypriot-born eccentric Stelios Arcadious spent 10 years searching for a surgeon willing to create the ear in a lab from cells and then implant it onto his skin.
Arcadious is now hard at work looking for a surgeon willing to implant a functioning brain into his numbskull.
