Shouldn't the Sulu pez have been better positioned? After all it is a little known fact that Sulu was to be the captain until Shatner used anti asian manipulation to wrestle the role away from him. I mean it is obvious he would have made the better captain right?
Perhaps GW used his weather/time machine to leap back to 1966 and racially profile him thus persuading Rodenberry to take the absurd chance he took with Shatner at the helm. Or maybe Bush did it before 1966. Or maybe...*&#%temporal mechanics.
Three years and it was all over. Too bad we couldn't see what Takai knew all along. He was a visionary...
QQ: heh heh. You may be onto something there. I do think Takei is fostering a not-so-latent grudge against Shatner because he played Captain Kirk and thus had more lines. Who knows if some anti-Asian manipulation wasn't employed by the Shatman? Who knows if Takei doesn't blame Bush for it as well? All fair speculation for the tin foil hat brigade.
