For this Cat Blog Friday...
... a tribute to Caterack.
Caterack, Among World’s Oldest Cats, Dies At 30 Brought home as a kitten in 1979, Caterack lived a long, happy life with her owner, Alisa Morris.

Stories like this never fail to really hit me. They always remind me of the two I had, Kapri and Ginger, I was devastated at loosing them, and stories like this one always choke me up, as I am now. Whether it has been mine, my mothers', or my sisters', all our felines are and have been incredibly loving and affectionate. There is nothing more soothing and stress relieving, I think, then a cat's purr. Even the strays that have come into our life have with attention, compassion, and love, let their affectionate sides out. And what incredible personalities! each one so unique.
Oh, and despite what some may say, all cats, especially our loved companions, go to heaven. And as far as I am concerned, that's the truth!

Wow that is a long feline life! I thought my 21 year old was amazing. I know that I was fortunate to have Alice so long. No matter how long... boy you miss them when they are gone.
RW: I know how you feel. The loss of a beloved pet is felt for rest of your life. Is is true what they say that their pawprints remain in our hearts forever.
Funny you should mention cats going to heaven. My daughter had a religion teacher who told the class that because they had no souls, animals didn't go to heaven.
My daughter, and other kids I'm sure, were understandably upset.
We told her not to listen to Sister "Blankety-Blank". I mean, what kind of heaven would it be without our loved ones, including pets.
Holey Smokes, that was one old kitteh!
Lucky cat; he used all nine life spans! :)
Cube: What a jerk teacher.
Ananda Girl: I know. 30 years is a long feline life and so is 21 years.
We had a black domestic short haired female named Baldy who was affectionate, still liked to play well into adulthood, was a champion hunter. She was just an overall great cat with a personality all her own. And we felt lucky to have her for 16 years. We still miss her and other cats who have graced our lives with their presence.
Brooke: Yeah. It was a nasty thing to say to a room full of children.
I wanted to ask her if she thought priests who were serial
molesters of young boys would go to heaven, but I never did. I didn't want to make problems for my daughter.
Alisa Morris must be brokenhearted. To lose an animal friend after all those years together!
I too believe that all animals go to heaven. From everything I have been taught, anything with a spirit goes to heaven... cats have spirits.. so they go to heaven. I was intrigued to read Susi Pittman's latest book, "Animals in Heaven? Catholics Want to Know!" This book actually has biblical quotes that back up the theory of animals in heaven. Even though I am not catholic I was very intrigued and impressed by the research that Suzie has researched on the subject of animals in heaven... it is truly a very interesting book.
